FYI Disney owns ABC and ESPN, so if DTV is your television provider, you might not be able to watch MNF live next week, along with a lot of college football games.

This is the exact same stunt that Disney used last year when they were in a contract dispute with Charter Spectrum and what motivated me to go to an internet streaming service instead of cable or satellite. If you're looking for a suggestion, check out FuboTV.

Disney as a company is losing a lot of money and it will only get worse if the drama with DTV continues. I have YouTube TV so I am watching from the sidelines

I parted ways with those companies years ago. They won't get a penny from my household.

If I'm not able to watch a particular game , so be it.

Actually, I'm the opposite. I'm delighted that there's so much competition out there as it keeps prices low. When I take into consideration that I'm sharing my FuboTV subscription with two other family members, I'm paying about 1/4 of the cost that I was when I had Charter Spectrum.

Even when I take Prime Video (TNF) into account, something I was already getting before I cut the cord with Charter, and the occasional subscription to Peacock (it will cost me $8 for a month after which I'll cancel) as I'll do this Friday so I can watch the Packers vs. Eagles from Brazil, I'm paying way less than I have for well over a decade.

DirecTV has so many disputes, it's not worth paying for. YouTube TV has been my go-to for a while now.
You certainly don't want to get hooked into any contracts or invest in a bunch of equipment, that's for sure. One of the things I like about these internet streaming companies is that you can pause or change your subscription to a lower service level at any time. I'll pay for the package that includes the Red Zone during football season then change to the cheaper package on Jan. 1st.

I have very good OTA reception, so I can get all 4 of the network stations, which provides for a nice backup in the event of some type of outage.

If you are a DTV subscriber, they are offering a deal with Sling or FUBO. $30 credit, so basically you get first month free. I went with Sling and was really impressed with it last night, latency was non-existent as far as I saw. Might just cut the cord and go full time, very impressive.
