I'm just saying their head to head vs. those teams.

Wild Card is best of 3
ALDS is best of 5
ALCS and WS is best of 7

I like that format a lot.
Ahh ok gotcha.. missed that thought you were saying Series win 4-2 lol my bad

Skubal is a fricken beast. I can't believe we beat him twice.

So far: 7 innings, 3 hits, 13K, 1 run.

Detroit up 2-1 in the top of the 8th.

Dayum. Detroit has guys on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the top of the 9th. Couldn't even push across an insurance run.

To the bottom of the 9th, Tigers up 2-1. If they blow this game, they did it to themselves.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I can't wait to see those highlights.

I heard it was a grounder to the pitcher and the runner got caught between 3rd and home. HUUUUGE. Esp. after a throwing error got the guy to 3rd.

I take it we want Cleveland to win the next game to tire out the winner as much as possible?

So........now that this game is over.

To go back to what the OP asked. Who do you think is a better match for the M's?

I find myself honestly going back and forth. Cleveland has been on fire for a long stretch. But.......Detroit has more talent, imo. And they have Skubal. He's top 3 in the league, imo.

Once playoffs start most momentum goes out the window, just see Texas a couple years ago winning the WS.

The question is, if Detroit advances, would they pitch Skubal in game 1 on three days rest?

Prefer DET because CLE has been benefactors of a bunch of funky things happening on the field helping them win in the last several weeks and that scares me.

Mariners are better than both of those teams, so I don't care really. Detroit limped in.

I think Skubal would pitch game 2. Meaning, we better damn well take it in 3 or 4 games. Because THAT guy in a deciding game 5? Ouch

This is exactly the kind of chaos CLE has been pulling off to win games, and thus, why I'd much rather see Ms face DET. DET was fortunate to get the out and prevent any damage in this instance, though it was pretty damn close.

Thanks, DET and CLE, for dragging that ninth inning out a bit and then making sure it'll be a whole 27 (not 18) innings before one of you guys come out to SEA. Gives us some real warm fuzzies!
