I am so, so glad that it's the still-loathed Broncos' coach, and not my beloved Seahawks' coaching staff, front office, and players, who is now getting thrown under the bus by Wilson to cover for Wilson's own failures and shortcomings.

Wilson choked and let his coach take the heat rather than living up to what Wilson claimed all those years, that he lived for moments like that. He knew there was a chance they might not get the first down if he tried on 4th and 5, so he chickened out and let Hackett take the heat for the loss and what everyone in the national media is acting like Hackett decided to do. A play was clearly sent in, and Wilson's teammates were clearly waiting for the signal to start the play, but instead of calling it, Wilson let the clock run down until a time out had to be called to avoid a delay-of-game penalty. But that way, Wilson wasn't involved on the final play in the loss, and he's not taking any of the heat.

Have I mentioned how glad I am that this self-aggrandizing, team-screwing piece of crap is no longer a Seahawk?

Wish I was recording the reaction of the fans in the stadium. The Bronco fans around me were absolutely insufferable. Nonstop shit talking. Our whole section stood up to wave good bye to them as they shuffled out of the stadium after the missed FG, heads hanging low.

Hackett is on hot seat after first game, remember the new owners did not hire him. The whole explanation versus what everyone saw doesn't mesh well either.

Dude is getting torn apart by local sports people. The stupid long kick is the thing being the most focused on since it was at the end. But they also had 12 penalties, lost two fumbles at the one yard line (which hasn't happened since the 80s, apparently), and the defense got handled by Geno Smith in the first half.

The rage on this forum after something like that had it happened to this team would be off the charts.

Distance is the biggest question mark related to elevation. He had that. Just missed wide left, and not by much.

Agreed, though; should have run a play--even a screen or trap-run might have got them the 1st. They had the time-outs to play with.
