The draft is a crap shoot. You really don't know what you have for a couple years. Just remember Doug Baldwin wasn't drafted.

True but the way he played Thursday night. It might have been better he'd been off the field.
If you think Eskridge was a bad pick, what about picking Kadarius Toney in the first round, at #20? There were so many misses in the 2021 draft.

I noticed that Nick Bolton was taken two picks after Eskridge. That would have been a good pick for us. He's a good player.

I think that was a terrible choice also but that was the Giants, not the Seahawks, making that choice so it doesn't bother me at all. If other teams make bad choices, so be it.

Draft is a crap shoot. I'm not much into this "good pick, bad pick" nonsense because fans just use the retrospectoscope and confirmation bias to judge draft outcomes and then pat themselves on the back. "I knew that guy would be bad/good!"

No one knew that Prosise and eskridge would be such injury magnets. Or Penny and Dissly. The injury gods are a capricious lot. You just have to hope your GM does better than average because most of it is really luck.

Eskridge over St. Brown isn't what irked me in that draft. It was Eskridge over Creed Humphrey that got my goat.
And it's not revisionist, necessarily. A lot of people were pounding the drum for Creed on these boards during draft season.

The severe concussion he got on his very first NFL regular season touch may have affected his career trajectory.

That being said, this pick was the one & only time I ever openly questioned a draft pick with Creed Humphrey in a position of need on the board.
