I am more concerned about the coaching than anything. The play calling, game-planning, and stubbornness has absolutely killed us. People keep acting like the defense is finished and overrated....its top 10 in passing yards per game (thats with playing Rodgers, Wilson, and Luck) and near the top 10, if not in it, in rushing yards per carry. We've given up a lot of rushing TDs and yards though because of our offenses inability to move the ball.

Another big problem I see is that Cowboy is not getting any younger and Fangio doesn't know how to rotate his guys. Willis is already hurt and Aldon is out for who knows how long but playing defense 35+ minutes a game has to be adding up very quickly for a defense that was absolutely gassed at the end of the season last year and it's biggest weapon has had another birthday since then.

Reid looks good so far but he has already been hurt once and on a very suspect hit that shouldn't have caused the concussion and the rest of that secondary is looking worse by the snap. As that D-line declines ( it rhymes for a reason) that secondary will get even more exposed. Letting Soap and Goldson walk might have seemed like the right thing to do but both of those guys played with attitude and physicality that the defense is now lacking. The same can be said for your running game absent Walker. Some people bring more than just their talent. They bring leadership and a physicality that makes everyone around them play better and more physical.

The Niners are looking very soft right now and those injuries your seeing are a direct reflection of that playing style. As the season goes on I fully expect (not wishing) the injury bug will become an even bigger problem and the Niners will continue to get bullied on the field the way they were bullying teams in recent years.

For the record I am not wishing injury on any player. That is completely classless IMO but we have had this conversation here on .net about our own team and how the injury bug was such a problem back when we were considered a finesse team while aggressive smash mouth teams always just seemed to have the luck on their side. It IMO is a reflection of how you play. Moving forward vs trying not to get moved back. The aggressor ends up doing the most damage and the finesse guys are the ones seemingly always getting injured.

I think the whole "Niner nation" thing is embellished to begin with. Everybody loves a winner, so it should be no surprise SF has it's fair share of fare weathered fans. How many of those are in "Niner nation"? How long will they stay? Case in point:

(I posted this earlier but...) "at least we're not 0-3 like the Giants and Redskins"~ 49er season ticket holder. (are you kidding me??)

"Oh well, I always have my Chargers" ~ 49er fan next door (posed in Playboy, or I wouldn't engage in football related discussions with her...or her husband, at all)

"We lost because our QB was running scared" ~ 49er Husband of 'she with the perfect breasteses'. (He was running scared....or was he being chased?)

My point being...with so many fans (like the Cowboys) how do you identify the real ones?

Hawk fans are REAL fans. We've done as much losing as winning and to my knowledge, not many have jumped ship. And we sure don't have a lot of groupies like "Niner nation", which I have determined, is just a bunch of bullsh*t.

I'm sure we'll get ours and really there is nothing wrong with that.

But to add to your note. My wife bet a 9er fan 20 bucks on the last game. He didn't have the money at the time so I teased him about it (in fun) a couple days later and later that day he paid my wife. She told him she wasn't worried about it and he said he knew but your husband is. Today (after the results of yesterdays beating) I told her to ask him if he wanted to double the money on the other bet they have which is the game at Candlestick and he responded by telling her, Sonia you know I'm not really a Niner fan right? I am actually a Miami fan. I was just wanting them to beat the Seahawks. Buhahaha, he sure was a Niner fan before today. Funny how things happen.

Hopefully he's a Houston fan next week. I'd remind him that 'this is a friendly bet...friendly bets typically are straight up, no points'. Let him keep hating on us while you Keep taking his money. All you can do is laugh.

Yeah he's not a bad guy, just a little confused. But then what Niner fan isn't?

This is one area they didn't have a choice in. The Hawks are a year behind the 9ers in having to make tough salary cap considerations (that will most likely start really happening for your guys this off-season; M-Rob was just the opening salvo), but it's a reality of the current NFL (i.e. an essentially flat salary cap that's going to stay flat for the forseeable future while top tier contracts are still getting bigger). It's one of the reasons IMO why it's pretty important the Hawks look really good so far this year, and that their believed-to-be toughest division rivals have looked pretty bad. It might never be this easy again, just as it will most likely never be as easy for the 9ers again as it was last year (what made the Super Bowl loss sting so friggin much).

49er fans looking for sympathy from seahawk fans...anyone else think that's funny? The 49r barge is loaded with bandwagon, ignorant, lame ass fans. I don't remember seeing any level headed 9r fans on their forums keeping the idiots in check. I know a couple die hard fans that live in Seattle and knew a bunch of them when I lived in Sacramento. The guys I know where just as arrogant as the rats jumping off that 3rd world barge transporting people in the storm.
Look at their boards over the last couple years and you can see evidence on our home boards. It's easy to rub it in now. Dbag coach, 2 years of consistent winning against our beloved and IGNORED NFL team. Never mind the head to head record, or better yet since the team was FORCED to realign. If you hadn't watched 30+ years of NFL games you would have thought the Hawks had struggled to win more than a couple over their time in the NFL. Not the case.

When the Hawks finally made the SB and had to hire a guy off the street to start on D did anyone outside Seattle feel bad? Hell no. Lets not even bring up the clown show that was our SB experience. How about all the injures the Hawks had at receiver around the same time? How about Vinnie Interceptaverties head crossing the goal line and not the ball? Cost a coach his job. How about a similar incident with Baltimore? I don't feel sorry one bit for the whiner fans. If you want sympathy go visit the Browns forum. Be prepared for the same response.

To recap, your coach is a Dbag as are most of the 49rs vocal fans. Your team has a lot of injuries, deal with it. Should have kept depth players ( coaching and GM decisions) and not rolled the dice on a gimmick QB. Then their is that stat of playing time the last couple of years for defensive players.

I don't have an ounce of sympathy for the 49rs our their fans.

Actually one positive to take from today's s^^*show was that the 49er offense has legitimate issues and what happened in Seattle just exacerbated those issues. A combination of scheme, lack of good receivers, coaching adjustments, and yes even Kaepernick.

The packers game hinted at it, Seahawks game put it on notice and colts just confirmed it. When did the Luck colts beat anyone this badly?

The 49ers style of football is quite unique, and sustained success has made them the target of coordinators everywhere.

It is a big concern of course but a true fan must always stay positive while becoming comfortable with the fact that the season may not end well. The Ravens looked like garbage in November and won it all. Giants same thing a year before.

The Packers with a readjusted defense will beat the 49ers in their current state. They gave up so much because they focused more about not getting embarrassed than the right balance.

I'll give it up to the Seahawks for having a stronger offensive identity and staying true to it. Week to week you see the constant dosage of lynch, with the right balance of passes to make it work. You don't see that in SF, at least not this year. Kaepernick is currently a gift and a curse with his talents being relied on too much and deviating from what the team does best-- run the ball, play action pass.

The 49ers are in unchartered territory right now with regards to a Harbaugh team in real distress. Something drastic has to change soon or this team may be in danger of missing the playoffs.

Eventually the team will return to its dominant ways...it may even be soon, the talent is too great and their best receivers are still PUP.

But expectations have been readjusted for the short term.

I think the niners will return to their 2003-2010 ways with Baalke making the picks and the remedial offense the coaching staff has installed before any semblance of dominating ways returns to Frisco.

Not worried, hopefully everything will come together and we can at least make a decent showing. Meantime your Hawks are looking like they're on track to take it all. If we cant do it this year hopefully you guys will.

I'd really hate to see it, but the 49ers should consider a call to Cleveland and see what they want for Josh Gordan ( if rumors are true.) Kaepernick's looked lost without Crabtree and Boldin is better as a #2 receiver, anyway. Add in Crabtree and that's a lethal receiving corp heading into the end of the season.
