You just couldn't do us one solid, eh?

Actually, it helps us towards the #1 seed. Thank you Rams. Pretty sure we lost all the relevant tiebreakers anyway with the 49ers, if they lost to the Rams, and we lost to SF in week 17. Now we know we MUST WIN the Cardinals game if we want the #1 seed. We needed to win it anyway to get the #1 or #2 seed and a bye. If Rams had won, we might have been complacent against the Cardinals. Now we won't be.

We were going to have to win Week 17 vs. SF anyway to win the division. So nothing has changed, other than now we have some urgency for Kyler Murray and the Cards.

It didn’t really affect us at all though...

Probably not, but it could've. There was an outside chance that we could've locked up the division before our game next week if the Rams had beat the 49ers this week and we got help from MIN, PHI, and ATL. Now that ship has sailed, and all that matters is beating SF next week.

Yeah. I would have liked the Rams to serve up a soul crushing defeat because...you know.....it's the 49ers but, it doesn't change the fact that we still need to win next week.

I felt sick to my stomach for having cheered the Rams on. In the end it was 3 hrs of my life I should of been doing something else with..that and actually watching a Patriots game ruined my Saturday...

Umm.. I could be wrong but I don't think there's any way we could have "locked up" the division this week. In the strength of victory formula you are referring to even if we got help this week week 17 still would have changed the metric. So we wouldn't know who won the tiebreaker until the other week 17 games were finished.

I felt the same way. But then i realized that if the rams had won, somehow Minny would have lost two and then the Rams would get in and somehow be our first playoff matchup.

No thanks. Glad they’re gone. Probably our worst matchup in the entire NFC. I’d rather go against the Saints. Without hesitation.

AND, think about how their loss boosts our standing as the premier franchise in the NFC.

Look at any team that has represented the NFC in the past decade and their inability to even make the playoffs afterwards, vs the Seahawks who have made the postseason 8 times in the past decade with two super bowl appearances. One time we didn’t make the playoffs, we ended up with a winning record, and the other was a decent 7-9 campaign that put us in the perfect position to both learn how to compete and win and be in the right position to draft the future.

The Rams loss was the perfect ingredient to our claim as the best NFC team regardless of the outcome of this postseason.

And we’ve done it in a tumultuous, competitive division. Not like New England who gets a free pass to a home game every post season by virtue of playing inbred morons 6 times a year.

Nice of the Rams to get super hyped to play us then choke vs Dallas and SF. Typical.
They didn't get hyped, the hawks had a Bad plan and lackluster play. Hopefully, they don't conspire to make the cards look like world beaters

This. Even if the Rams had won, the SoV would have been a near thing even if all the other games had gone in our favor. Certainly it would have been close enough for it not to be decided until Week 17.

This is good. Doesn't change anything about next week anyway, and now we don't have to risk playing the Rams in the playoffs.

I didn't say we could've locked it up this week. I said before we play our game next week. I believe we're going to get flexed into the prime time game and all the other games would be completed by then, thus the SoV tie breaker would've been settled.

In the end it works out for the best. The same way i truly feel is losing to the Rams worked out for the best.

It’s hard for a team to string 8-10 wins together and win it all while maintaining focus. And that’s exactly what we would have needed to do to make the Super Bowl. The Rams game was a “Wake the F up and go on another 6 game winning streak” moment.

Same thing with the Niners. Losing to us in Week 17 would mean them losing 3 games in a row. They’re a good enough team to not let that happen. Let’s win Week 17 and hope the Cowboys or Eagles knock them out in the wild card

Actually, I'm glad the Rams lost, because now they are eliminated from the playoffs, and we just don't match up well against them. Now it's full steam ahead. To infinity, and beyond! :les: :49ersmall:
