Report: Cowboys request interview with Seattle assistant Leslie Frazier

The Cowboys have requested an interview with Seahawks assistant head coach Leslie Frazier, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.

Actually, I wouldn't be bothered, losing Frazier. I do like him, but if the assistant HC position opens up, it could give us an extra carrot to dangle for a top notch OC.

This would be a huge loss. He has been a mentor to Mike through out the years and I'm sure does alot behind the scenes. I hope he stays on board here.

It would, however, allow us to interview OC candidates like Kellen Moore without seeking permission from Philly, since it wouldn't be considered a lateral move, but a promotion.

Sure does has the look of being a Rooney Rule interview. So it's not likely a truly serious interview. It'd be nice to keep this coach as the Asst. HC as he is voice of experience and significant knowledge for MM.

Rooney rule is dumb as hell in todays day and age.

There are enough candidates of various backgrounds that are eligible and qualified to be interviewed and a team should not have to be forced to interview at least one “minority” candidate.

The NFL thinks teams will not interview a non Caucasian coach so they gotta put this stupid rule in.

A good football coach is a good football coach and that has nothing to do with anything else.

If you are a good football coach, word travels and NFL teams know this and will request to interview you, regardless….
