still think we missed in the fourth round by not grabbing either G Mason McCormick or C Sedrick Pran-Granger. Both having great camps. But that's spilled milk.
I had McCormick on most of mocks.

So I guess Williams and the Seahawks "reached an agreement" last Tuesday Aug. 6, then Williams officially signed today, Aug. 11. And he did not play yesterday vs Chargers. Am I tracking all of this correctly? Just a bit confused by today's news that he has just been signed due to some saying last week that he signed with Seattle.

Ruminator you got it all right. The player if we recall is still recovering from an ACL injury so allowing him time to move and to sign his deal in a unhurried fashion won’t hurt at all.

This addition is a team changing add. The Hawks will soon have a top level OLine with some solid young depth and some veteran players for the mid line.

i really like this signing.

He's fully recovered from his left ACL replacement, and this was the right ACL so he's familiar with the rehab process. From someone who's torn them, the replacements are better than the originals if the rehab is done correctly. I think his best years are still to come.
This. Pretty amazing what they can do for ACLs these days. It used to be a ‘career killer’.

I’m not saying it’s an optimum situation but, more and more players are coming back from these injuries and are picking up right where they left off.

We just traded center Nick Harris + 7th back to the Browns for a 6th.

We must be confident!

I like the deal I just hope he can stay healthy. If not we could be in serious trouble.
It's in the hands of the medical and training staff at this point in time. Last year's amazingly quick return to field by Jordyn Brooks gives cause for optimism.

After all the rotation of offensive linemen we had last year due to injury relying on a guy recovering from a serious injury at a position that is so important and has a large drop off in talent level scares me a little.

Just following up with contract information .......

Question...

Admittedly, I don't know much about the structure of NFL deals... but 500k per game for 17 games is 8.5 mil...not including incentives, base salary or sign on...how is it a max of 6 mil? Can someone explain?

Regardless of above, it's also likely this results in a 3rd round comp pick...if JS manages FA pickups carefully. As noted, C spot already bumped 7th to 6th in '25 with Harris to Cleveland. 4th and 5th rnd comp picks projected for '25 (over the cap, Lewis, Brooks). This give JS some capital to move around and/or trade into '26 to pair with an extra 3rd for Williams and target a QB if Geno looks to be declining over the next couple seasons and Howell isn't the guy. I'm hoping CB depth results in more draft capital. Next 2 drafts could have a lot of promise.

Answer ...

$30k times 17 games equals $510K for the year ...... if and only if he appears in all 17 games.

Pretty sure that the draft pick swap for Harris is for 2026... not 2025.

And the 5th round comp pick in 2025 simply replaces the 5th-rounder we lost for Leonard Williams.
