The problem is, you're just as likely to end up with Trey Lance as you are to ending up with Jayden Daniels.

Being really, really bad is no where near a guarantee that you're going to get a good QB. Guys like Jayden Daniels are incredibly few and far between.
Gotta hope the GM gets it right...

Crazy win, good for the Commanders
Mr Campbell looked shooked for a bunch of the game, for good reason.
Maybe they "blew their load" sorta speak against the vikings.
Other then the gizmos and gadgets shit , they couldnt do what they normally do, which was run the ball?
They didn't respond to the bye well but I think the biggest issue was falling behind. They couldn't lean on their run game any longer.

In retrospect, the game was decided on that fumble by Jared Goff in the red zone. It was the snowball that started the avalanche.

Dan Campbell sounds like The Dude from the Big Lebowski. In a couple hours, he's REALLY going to be sounding like The Dude.

People keep suggesting we need to tank games to get a good QB. I am calling them out. How many top five overall QBs fail. 60% 70%.
Look at the odds for any other part of the draft.

Nobody actually tanks, but some teams have been much better off for having had been bad at the right time. Prioritizing the present at the expense of the future isn't a great strategy either unless you like being in the middle.

I told one of the more annoying Lions fans at work that Goff would finish with 1 TD to 3 INTs with the TD being a short one to LaPorta in a 38-17 loss. Damn, I wish they would just end the game now. He is so insufferable; I'm really, really going to rub this one in on Monday if this sticks.
Thank you so much Goff for that last INT. First Monday in a long time where I'm looking forward to going to work lol

Many of those teams weren't just bad at the right time. They were really bad for a really long time and then finally got lucky after being bottom feeders for years.

The coaches, players are all wired to give it everything they have. The thought of tanking never ever goes through their minds. They are just not wired that way.

The talk of tanking games is just something ignorant fans think is OK

Sure some and by far not all, teams hit it with lucky by having a high draft choice

Tanking games is loser mentality

I can guarantee you McDonalnd not once went into a game thinking that were going to get a better draft choice if we lose this game. Good luck preaching it to the players.

Any poster here who suggest that tanking games to get a good QB is clueless on how football works and should stick to Madden

Again, nobody is losing games on purpose. Some people take the phrase "tanking" so damn literally. It doesn't mean throwing games and coaches arent telling the players to halfass it on the field, it's more stuff like purging expensive vet contracts and prioritizing getting younger players experience even if it might mean winning six games instead of eight in a given season.

The real "loser mentality" is treating a marathon like a sprint.

Goff dropped a big fat deuce right in the middle of Ford Field.

And then complaining that the marathon wasn’t a sprint

There are PLENTY of teams that finished near the bottom of the barrel that could have picked Lamar, Rodgers, Mahomes, Marino, Brady, Brees, Montana...
