The Giants made the right choice not making a bigger effort to keep Barkley. He wasn't even good for them the past few years, and they're not a team in a position to keep paying big money to a running back. Hell, they even used the #2 overall pick on him when they had 37-year-old Eli Manning with no succession plan and Josh Allen and Sam Darnold available.

They paid him elite RB money for six years, and he was mostly coasting off a great rookie year. He was also hurt a lot. Moving on was defensible, they just got unlucky that he went off for a division rival.

Newton was a guy I was talking up for us quite a bit pre-draft. Was really surprised both he and Sweat fell to the second round. It was a tremendous DT draft.
