Agreed. Before our first game, I thought Bryant was on the outside looking in. I think they’re going to have some difficult decisions in that position going into the regular season.

He's done one hell of a job since moving to safety
I do wonder if it translates to the regular season, but he showed sparks of it last year. An offseason at the spot has improved his confidence and processing. He was simply slow in terms of change-of-direction to play CB in the NFL, but he's plenty spry for safety.

My memory might be selective, but I remember him missing tackles last year. That was a problem across the whole defense. Probably the biggest thing next to pass rush I want to see the defense from last year.

Yeah, he was pretty rough in that regard. Brand new to the spot, though, so might've worked it out.

Ideally, none of our safeties will be exposed to the volume of tackling attempts they were exposed to last year. Not many safeties in the league are prepared to deal with that level of shit from their front 7.

Yeah, our problems with tackling--as much as there were some who thought it was just about 'attitude' or players who aren't trying--was a whole-of-scheme failure.

We had far too many plays that were getting stopped in the secondary that should have been handled by LBs or plays that were getting stopped by LBs solo that should have been slowed down by our DL. Bad tackling was less about individual effort and more a systemic failure.
