Really don't think he was the player of the week on his own defense, or even the second best, but cool to see nonetheless. He has certainly been earning his keep lately.

lol if it wasn’t for his pick six we aren’t winning. But hey.. seems your never happy with something Seattle does or your always in a “when I see I’ll believe” bs mode.

I complimented Bryant in the same post. Being our third-best defensive player last week is hardly an insult.

Yeah, it was a great play. Kyler doesn't airmail his receiver and throw it straight to Coby without Witherspoon chasing him down though.

Interesting how you call me out for expressing the exact opinion that two of the three posts before mine also shared.

He's become a nice NFL calibre starting safety with room to grow, and for that I am very pleased. But nah, Big Cat had one of the most dominant games that I have ever seen from a defensive lineman.

I agree with the consensus around here. I'd have gone with Williams, with Spoon a close second. But always nice to see a Hawk get recognition.

I'm reminded of SB48, Malcolm Smith got the award because of his 2 picks, but there were several guys on Seattle's D who may have had better games in that historic shutdown of Peyton Manning and the Broncos D. They don't always get it right.

Agreed, Bryant was 3rd best, or even 4th best player on the Seattle Defense against the Cards, after 1) Leonard Williams; 2) Witherspoon; 3) Ernest Jones IV.

That said, Bryant was where he was supposed to be, CAUGHT* the ball, and ran it back using his blockers (including Spoon) and it was THE key play in the game. Coby Bryant, NFC DPOW, good for him!! Took advantage of his opportunity, and got the recognition! I'm good with it! Hope he kept the pick-6 ball for his grandkids.

* SO MANY TIMES, the DBs (all over the league) DROP an easy pick, and we all say, (at least I do), THAT's why he's a DB and not a WR! So yes, CATCHING the pick is a big deal, even if he just takes a knee after the pick.

It would not have happened without Witherspoon harrasing the passer out of the pocket, then running downfield to block after the pick.

Good for Coby. Not taking anything away from him. But how does Big Cat not get it? He had a pretty rare performance for a defensive lineman. Just a dominant performance.

Pick 6 is a flashy play. Even Bryant says he wasn’t even our best defender that day

Thanks. I guess I should have probably read the thread comments before chiming in, as it was already said multiple times.

Not sure why, but this thread made me think of the old-school "Photo of the Week" posters from Pietro's Pizza. Ahhhh, nostalgia!
