Reading some of this stuff is kinda funny-Clowney is having a HUGE impact, the fancy stats might not show it but watch some of Ben's early throws that were rushed and dropped-most of those were because of Clowney. Run game?...forget about it and this is against one of the best OLs in the league and they didn't even crack 90 yards-I know it's only week 2 but we're 4th in run defense which compared to last year that is a MASSIVE improvement and I'll say that is due to Clowney and running that base 4-3, Ziggy is coming back too so Sunday is gonna be fun to watch.

I think he's making a major impact. He drawing double teams. Forcing quick hit routs and as mentioned freeing others to make plays. How many passes has he batted down? It seems like more than a couple. Plus he is a class act. I can't wait to see our D line dictate when we get Ziggy going and Reed Returns. Our D- will only get better. Our secondary should benefit mid season.

He is still getting integrated into the defense, they have not got the full rotation in due to injuries yet we are stuffing the run and while the passing game of the Bengals was full of yards they were mostly allowed yards to set up stuffing the run.

Again lets look at this about week 6 when we should see everyone up to speed and comfortable.

I'd say week 8 after Reed comes back and has played a game.

He is playing competently, but far from imposing his will or taking over the game ala Bruce Smith or Lawrence Taylor.

Yes, I too am concerned that in 2 games Clowney has not yet shown that he is playing at the level of best defensive player of all time

Is it too late to get our scrub players and 3rd round pick back?

^^^^Yep, and then if he doesn't sign with us we get a comp pick?

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Seeing him with Ansah this week should be good too. I would think a fairly steady upward trajectory, peaking right about February sounds good to me.

He has more sacks than Aaron Donald, is disruptive on every play. Watching the defensive series when he’s out makes me cringe. I’d say he’s certainly been the best defensive lineman added in a long time. Maybe since Bennett left. Sean Payton and crew are going to have a tough time getting the run game going against a healthy Seahawks D-Line this weekend, that’s for sure.

Football is a team game. I can just imagine how good Clowney will be once Ziggy and Reed are playing beside him.

He is drawing attention from the other teams and still seems to have some success with little to no time to get adjusted to our defense. It only up from here and what I see is a player who is making and will make a bigger impact that Frank Clark.

^^^ This. Clowney's mere presence on the field means the other team has to adjust to him, and it frees up other guys on the line. Overall he has certainly added to our success. Good pick up.

Yall are being way too hard on him. He has surpassed all my expectations. The other dlineman would not be getting anywhere near the opportunities that they are if Clowney wasn't out there.
