Man I hope, but this is probably just protocol?

I hope he stays healthy and gets the respect (from the fans media and referees) that he has already earned and never really received.

Agreed! He is a beast, yet never garners much talk outside of the PNW

He craps on my Niners oline. I think Staley admitted himself that Clemons was one of the hardest people for him to block. If he does come back though, what percent will he be at?

I don't really put much into depth charts. this doesn't necessarily mean he's coming back this week

Man, I can't wait to see that monster bodied #91 back in the game. It's going to be exciting to see what type of fitness level he's at after the injury.

RGKnee didn't look like he was back to 100% last night and needs to get back into game form - which will probably come with a few weeks playing now.

Coming back from ACL/MCL/knee injuries is no joke and it has pro's and con's for the body. If the training regiment has been as serious and strenuous as it should be, the rest of his body and mind should be primed to go. Not being able to use one leg (and therefore your lower body as a whole) restricts the workouts and training that one can do, but it allows the player to develop the other parts of his body really well (i.e. core, arms, back). Returning from this type of injury can make or break a player and I hope it's the former.

I was watching a story on AP and his return last year and another on Cushing coming back for the Texans this year. It was very enlightening to hear the players talk about how you stay busy and train hard while you can't do all of the cut-running and physical work that would stress the lower body. The thought was that AP worked out so hard and stayed at such a good fitness level that he was actually healthier and in better peak condition than when he was injured. Cushing was hoping the same thing would happen, and felt after taking a step back from football that it made his mind and body more healthy and was chomping at the bit to get back to full play.

Here's to all the best for Mr. Clemons!

I don't think it's gonna happen, and would be happy to have Avril there at the least. But I want a healthy Browner starting for sure.

Yeah, no. It doesn't mean he's coming back this week. Last week Avril was listed as the starter and he didn't suit up.

Go Hawks.

I like WT, and there's been talk of him replacing BB...but I hope that don't happen. Both have their merits, but I'll take BB's better tackling and general physicality over WT's, every day.

It's just protocol as Clem is healthy enough to practice. Key sentence from the article:

And recall that Cliff Avril was listed on the depth chart last week at this time and did not play on Sunday. But Clemons’ inclusion on the depth chart indicates again the optimism the team has that his return will come soon.

I don't think Steve Smith would have had the day he had with Browner on one side of the field. Just my hunch. Could be wrong. BB's also a better match-up for Boldin -- maybe the best CB to match up with Boldin in the entire league. Just looked at the 2011 BAL/SEA box score -- Boldin caught two passes on nine targets. Would definitely be huge for BB to get back.

Obviously, it would be huge if Clem was 100% and ready. Biggest factor would be in stopping the run. We'd have both edges set in our base D without compromising anything in pass rushing from our LEO spot. His absence in Atlanta and early this season has opened a lot of people's eyes as to how much of a beast this guy is, I think.

OMG, having Clemmons, Avril AND Browner back for this HUGE game would be beyond awesome! But I still don't want anyone thrown in before they're ready, of course. And also, of course, the team wouldn't if they weren't ready. So if the team says they're ready to go, I trust them. Hopefully the players themselves would swallow their pride and tell them if they thought they might not quite be ready. Damn you Irvin! He would make such a big difference if he hadn't been so selfish and got himself suspended! arghhhh!
