^^^ Lol. Yeah the winner of the executive of the year award a few years back is horrible lol.

Outside of the 2012 draft, he has been money.

Look at the majority of talent on your roster. Baalke isn't the reason they are there. Point to a 2/3 exceptions and then remember I said majority.

I think you guys might be right about Harper being an ideal Walker replacement. If when you day ideal you mean can't catch the ball for jack.

Forgive me for being somewhat of a Football coaching neophyte but at what point is a rookie or new recruit exposed to the full playbook? Is it worth limiting exposure to the full book to the 1st or 2nd team only until a guy is on the roster to ensure security? Just asking.

Baalke can't draft worth a damn on his own, so he is using the guys that draft really well to make his roster better. McLoughan's 2010 draft is why Baalke has been getting all his accolades. Since then, Baalke has not done much. Half of Baalke's draft this season was on guys that won't even be able to play this year because they are already on IR.

Patton, Lemon-yay, Reid, BJ Daniels, McDonald all look really good. Tank, Lattimore and Dial are all risky picks due to injury, I agree, but we had plenty of draft picks to try them out and see if they can get healthy by next year.

How about drafting Aldon Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Chris Culliver, Kendall Hunter and Daniel Kilgore in 2011. That draft was A+. One of the best pass rushers in the NFL. Check. Franchise QB. Check. Solid slot corner and future starting DB. Check. Good change of pace back with potential. Check. Future starting center. Check.

You're hilarious. Ever think that they drafted some guys who are injured and can't play this year because they don't need them to play this year? Its about drafting for the future.

ANd the conspiracy theories are funny too. IT can be as simple as the Niners probably liked Harper but SEA drafted him first. NOw that he is available, the Niners see an opportunity to make their roster better. Whether he becomes a TE or stays a WR, they will see what they can get out of him before Manningham and/or Crabtree comes back. It doesn't always have to be mind games, etc. I know that is what fans like to believe, but in reality its probably more of just making the roster better.

Right...as if Baalke flew in from mars the day before the 2010 draft. You do realize that Baalke was McCloughans right hand man the entire time he was here, right. SMH...

I don't see why there's a big fight about this.

Like I said in my post a few minutes ago:

Chris Harper is not good enough to play for the Seahawks.
Chris Harper is good enough to play for the 49ers.

Doesn't that bode well for our team more than anything else....so who cares?

He probably saw the entire playbook as it pertains to his position, but that really doesn't matter. What would matter is if he were involved in game planning for that specific game...which he wasn't

Yes it does bode well for the Seahawks. Kearse and Williams looked damn impressive.

But I think the 49ers have different intentions for Harper. More of a utility player than a quintessential WR.

Can you look yourself in the mirror and say you honestly believe what you've just typed?

Typical 9er headline: The [team name] have received [player name] from the 49ers in exchange for a [number] round pick.
Typical Seahawk headline: The [team name] have claimed [player name] from waivers, formerly of the Seahawks.

I love our FO, but shamefully jealous of how 9ers keep turning their scraps into picks while we seem to let them go with nothing in return. Same thing on draft day. Its like a freaking Jedi mind trick. You will give us next year's second round pick in exchange for this bag of feces. And they just nod.

I believe this is the most likely scenario, yes.

I can.

This is the big leagues...you don't waste a roster spot to play mind games. This was done because the 49ers lost Gray off waivers to the Browns. Plain and simple.

It was a Seahawk because they are a very good team and could afford to cut a player with potential.
