Does anyone else think it's makes sense for Chip to leave SF and go back to Oregon? Call it a feeling.
Been calling it since the Chipster was hired in SF. The Niners are a dumpster fire. Oregon is where the Chipster had his most success, SF is a blackhole for HC's, Oregon has a job opening, Uncle Phil has the $$$, the math adds up..TAB420":18wrpsny said:Does anyone else think it's makes sense for Chip to leave SF and go back to Oregon? The difference between Pete Carroll, Harbaugh, and Kelly is that Pete Carroll failed twice in the NFL already. This is why the media was wary of him. Even the local media was questioning the decision. Jim Harbaugh ran a traditional NFL system in college with great success and he had the demeanor one would expect from an NFL head coach. Harbaugh and Pete's success both paved the way for Chip Kelly.cymatica":148tkmi2 said:Funny how all the talking heads(or asses) praised the hires of john harbaugh and chip kelly, yet pete was a bad decision.
Good youtube video idea: collection of all the pete criticism during the hire, then all the clips praising him as of late.

Failed? Really? A winning record and 2 playoff appearances in 4 seasons? Pete never stood a chance in his first 2 stints as a coach. Meddling owners killed him.
Pete Carroll went 33-31 in the regular season, and was promptly escorted from the playoffs. Under Pete Carroll the Jets had an epic meltdown from what was looking to be a winning season. He quickly lost the locker room. He was then hired by the Patriots, a team that finished 11-5. From there the Patriots record got worse every year under Pete Carroll. I don't understand how you can label the guy as a "success" from his first stints in the NFL. Even Carroll himself admits that he did not have his philosophy defined until he spent some years at USC, and that his time there was an important part of his success in the NFL.Maulbert":2wyjper4 said:Spin Doctor":2wyjper4 said:The difference between Pete Carroll, Harbaugh, and Kelly is that Pete Carroll failed twice in the NFL already. There were external factors here for sure, but every coach has to deal with those. It is part of being a competent leader. The Patriots and Jet fans do not look fondly upon his time in NE and NY like we look upon in his time in here. Carroll is a different coach than he was back in the day, when he only was able to get a hair above .500.

Now that Oregon hired Taggart you are probably right.DavidSeven":14fyfa2k said:Popeyejones":14fyfa2k said:As for the 9ers, they're still paying Tomsula for the next two years ( :lolon top of Chip for another three ( ), and I seriously don't think the team is anywhere close to talented enough to justify paying for three head coaches at once in an effort at a quick fix.
Yep, Chip won't leave or get fired. He has essentially three years of job security in the NFL.
Jed is not going to spend the money to buy Chip out of his contract. He had to grit his teeth to do that for Tomsula. He let Harbaugh walk over a few million dollars.

I was wrong, I thought the Chipster was headed back to Oregon.

Fischer will be available if they change their minds.....
Can you imagine a Tomsula, Kelly, Fischer trifecta?
That's good news for us Hawks fans then. :2thumbs: 8)Marvin49":2nr6u9sb said:I don't think Chip is going anywhere unless he's fired.
He he jumps back to college, he's probably done in the NFL. I don't think he's ready to do that yet.
