Yeah, it's clear that we're running the ball way more under KK than Grubb, in spite of our OLine still lacking and our rushing attack not being as productive as it could be. It wasn't just the new OC, though, as they made an OLman their top draft pick and beefed uvp the FB position.
I like what Mark Schelereth said about the rushing attempts vs yards per carry . He implied that the act of running in and of itself was effective .

Something like that

Some more light on the failures of the Raiders offense, more specifically Chip Kelly.

This is pretty bad.

Sending in wrong calls is bad. Particularly as it was his playbook.

Calling plays that aren’t in the playbook??

What??

Pete meddling on both sides of the ball. Shocker, people were mystified when we said this happened in Seattle too. I still think the Dallas game because of Pete forcing the run caused Schotty to move on.

I just read the article mentioned by this tweet. (For anyone who wants to read it - https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-de...of-cohesion-in-building-under-hc-pete-carroll )

PC should've just called it a career. It's clear now that, unlike when he stepped away from the NFL to coach college, his time off between Seattle & Vegas didn't change anything about his philosophy/approach. Now, barring a miracle, his career is gonna end on a sour note.

Whe anyone suggested this happened in Seattle the usual Pete defenders argued Pete was hands off and it was heresy to say Pete meddled. We now know Pete meddles in everything, the draft room as it’s been leaked, play calling, game plans etc. everyone blamed John, Clint, Schotty(who wanted out because of Pete meddling), Waldron etc. but viewed Pete as infallible.

It isn't exactly "meddling" when a head coach is involved in everything, because he should be. However, I don't think you hire an offensive coordinator like Chip Kelly and then not let him design and implement his scheme. If Pete didn't want a Chip Kelly offense, he shouldn't have hired him.

I agree which is why I found it odd every Pete apologist said he didn’t have anything to do with either side of the ball and everything was Clint’s fault for example. Either Pete is worthless by not injecting himself or it wa ships fault the defense was near league worst year after year.

ACTUALLY....

i remember a playoff game against the Panthers in carolina. Lynchs back was sore we couldnt move the ball to save ourlives. i remember in the 2nd half it was too late but they started getting rolling. Someone asked M Rob what happened, and ROB said, Cable told off PC and Bevell and started calling the playcalls himself lol we lost but thats iirc around the time cable was then sent packing.. then shortly bevell.

I still can't believe Hawk fans we're rooting for him to be OC. Oregon fans, maybe? Other than his novel first season with constant hurry up offense, he has been dismal in the NFL. A few former players have claimed he created a toxic locker room. A former executive said free agents wouldn't go play for him. (This was probably in SanFran.)

He's another one of those guys who left for "greener pastures" when he had it so good at Oregon. The grass is not always greener on the other side.
