My coaches always told me "you make your own luck!"
I just posted this on the Bears forum...

"There will be a mass exodus of veteran players to free agency after the 2027 season. You can look it up. About 6 of them will be replaced by draftees and FA of unknown quality. The team will be stronger next year and peak in 2027. That is very plain to see. Bears fans just don’t like to think about it. I am getting too obsessed with it, because it may be Bears best shot at a Super Bowl in my (few) remaining years on Earth."

They are giving me all kinds of crap for writing this, but I think it is true.

I hope Seattle makes their own luck by earning home playoff games because I don't want to see us trippin' to Chicago (or GB) for a game in winter time.

No doubt. See: Bears and Colts.

NO way anyone can convince me that they saw this coming. Esp. the Bears. Pretty impressive. I keep hearing how they "barely win"

Well, 9-3 is still 9-3. They know how to finish.

The NFC is wide open right now, wow. 10 teams at 6 or more wins. 6 teams at 8 or more wins.

HAWKS, BEARS, CLAMS......all 9-3
Niners at 9-4
Packers at 8-3-1
Eagles at 8-4
Bucs at 7-5
Lions at 7-5
Panthers at 7-6
Cowpokes at 6-5-1
Barely win, I bet all the really good teams have a lot of barely wins. Reminds of the end of the baseball season how it came down to just win doesn’t matter who or how

Meh, I prefer Mike's way of charging up his team... This reminds my of Kirk Cousin's dancing in Minnesota like a weirdo... a coach must show poise in my opinion...

Bears OL has literally wore out the Packers D.

Yeah, Cutler was a character with the cigars and all.
I was thinking more along the lines of giving up in games when things didn't go his way, and sitting on the bench crying after an INT. 639

I think they are ahead of schedule but a year away. Need another good draft and more time in the system. Not sure Williams is the ideal fit for them but QB's don't grow on trees and they aren't going to bail on him for the next couple of years.

I didn't expect Ben Johnson to be so successful, so quickly. He's clearly a very smart guy but I didn't know if he could lead and inspire a team like he has. Both the Bears and the Patriots are showing how much impact a coach can have on a team.
Ben Jonhson had great help from his G.M this past off season by going out and getting some studs on that oline.
heck If John did the same for Mike Macdonald? I'd say we would be close to being unstoppable this season.

Yes, but they got lucky too. The Rams gave up on Jonah Jackson too soon and traded him to the Bears for a 6th round pick because they thought he was a bust after signing him for $51 million. Then the Chiefs inexplicably gave Joe Thuney away for a 4th round pick. And they have a rookie, Ozzy Trapilo playing left tackle and no one could have predicted he would play so well (he got a 91.1 grade for last week's game).

But you're right, if Schneider gets Jackson and Thuney to play the two guard positions, it's a completely different line. For a 4th and a 6th!!
