Sources: Chargers save $40M on reworked deals
The Los Angeles Chargers has restructured the deals of Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams to save over $40 million in cap space, sources tell ESPN.

I am assuming clearing cap for Herbert 2023 is the 4th year on his rookie deal. Probably beating Rodgers deal by a bit at over $50 million AAV. Over the Cap is estimating 6 yrs $295 million with $135 million due at signing

Other side of the deal:
Next year the cap number for Mack and Bosa combined is $75 million.
Add in Williams and Allen and it’s $142 million
The same year they have to start paying their QB top dollar.
