The atmosphere inside our stadium has changed dramatically since the days of the LOB, and not just because there's more visiting fans than in years past. We're just not as enthusiastic as we used to be. Times are changing, and people aren't as passionate about their sports as they used to be.

The atmosphere inside our stadium has changed dramatically since the days of the LOB, and not just because there's more visiting fans than in years past. We're just not as enthusiastic as we used to be. Times are changing, and people aren't as passionate about their sports as they used to be.

Well it also doesn't help that true blue-collar fans have been priced out of games and replaced by wealthy Business men (and women) that are just there just because.

The real solution is on the field. The team needs to start winning at home, simple as that.

Last year was a bit of an abberation in that our home schedule was packed with playoff teams. A bit of an excuse, but it is the truth. With a more balanced schedule we should improve, starting this Sunday against the Aints. Win the games you are supposed to win. Winning at home should bring out the more casual fans to fill the seats with home bodies.

That's definitely a factor. Losing causes more STH to re-sell their tickets, and when the team is losing, the home market gets pretty thin, causing more visiting teams' fans to scoop them up.

But under the current climate, even if we start winning again, I don't think we'll ever see the atmosphere like it was back during the LOB days. The popularity of football and sports in general has experienced a decline. Gen Z just doesn't have the passion that previous generations had.
