I know I know small sample size.. but that size was ROUGH so far.

Im guessing he's number 5 at this point in the rotation?

Do we have any other options, his velocity is really hit or miss, and that honestly started last season too.

Does anyone see a change in the mid season or even early depending on his starts etc?

Side note: I like what I see from the young guys, Some of them are making a case for being up here soon as a starter or Utility in the near future.

I think it's more mental on his part. He knows these games don't count so he's just going through the motions. I believe he may be upset that he isn't the opening day starter.

Pitchers in the Spring are working on new stuff, honing their skills, working on mechanics. Hard to get worked up about a bit of "struggling." He's been good for 30 starts a year for us.

Omg. Established pitchers are working on specific things during spring training. They don't care about the stats.

Castillo was solid last season, and he's only 33. He'll be fine. He usually gives up a ton of runs during spring training. He's probably mainly working on getting his velocity up on his fastball this early in spring training.

I love this board... "DURRR YOURE GETTING WORKED UP" over making simple statements.. FFS

What is the point of making ANY kind of thread if you muppets assume people are getting worked up over starting conversation? JFC... Nevermind...

It's been known his velocity is down. He's def not an ace anymore.
They should let players juice again it helped out pitchers too.
