Who are you picking?

I think Castillo is the Ace on the staff. He has OP stuff and not fair throwing that hard.

You?

I think that the team has viewed Gilbert as the ace of the future for the franchise. He's got more development to undergo before he reaches their perceived level of competence. That could arguably make Castillo better now. Ray is definitely the #3 pitcher behind them.

Castillo is the Ace. Ray is number 2 and Gilbert 3. Then I’d go Flexen 4 and Marco 5

Hard to say. In the moment, I think it's Castillo, then Gilbert, and then Ray. I wouldn't count Ray out though. He is the reigning AL Cy Young and was pitching like it for about 2 months before the break. I'm curious to see what he can do when he doesn't go up against Houston.

To me, Castillo is clearly the Ace. Then Gilbert, then Ray. Though when all 3 are on, that's top 5 in the league for the 1 thru 3 starters imo. For a good playoff run, you need to have a VERY good Top 3. I'm more than ready to move on from Batting Practice Marco.
We are going to the game on Tuesday. Castillo is pitching and Julio is eligible to come back. Fingers, legs and nads crossed that all happens. Shoot, maybe even Haniger and France too. Would love to play the Yankees with our best offense. While they are clearly a much better team, it would just be nice to see how we stack up w/our best options on offense. And for the record, I really wanted them to add a big bat.

With what we gave up for Castillo, I hope he is, in fact, the indisputable ace.

He looked the part yesterday. He pitched much better than his line, CB Bucknor’s incompetence was the reason for at least 2 of the runs. Castillo was borderline dominate yesterday.

I'm pretty sure Ray isn't vaccinated. If the season ended today, we would have a three game playoff series against Toronto. With the new format, all games would be in Toronto, pretty sure Ray wouldn't be able to travel with the team.

Gonzales is so bad. I remember a few seasons ago when the Ms said Marco was going to be their lead. I said, that guy is terrible! I wasn’t wrong.

Agreed somewhat. He’s great if he’s pounding the corners but his location has been off

I could be wrong, but that doesn't sound right to me. Ray played for Toronto last year, so he either is vaccinated, or they let him play while being unvaccinated. I very much doubt it's the latter. They are quite strict about that in Canada.

I’m pretty sure they played their home games in Florida and Buffalo last season.

Earlier this year when we played in Toronto, Ray didn’t travel with the team because he was unvaccinated. There is a real decent chance we may have to play them in the playoffs. Whether you believe in it or not, you can’t leave your team hanging.

Marco leads the team in quality starts, according to a quote I saw in-game.

He did pitch for the Blue Jays in Toronto last season. Apparently he was granted a workers exemption to do so according to this article.

How did Ray pitch for the Blue Jays in 2021?

Despite not being vaccinated, Ray was able to pitch for Toronto last season. The Blue Jays began their season in Buffalo in 2021, at Sahlen Field. They returned to the Rogers Centre at the end of July.

Ray was able to make that return because of a worker's exemption, which allowed him to make return trips to Canada.

Our best 3 pitchers against the Spankees, yes please.
Was nice to finally not see BP Marco. And that umpire was PATHETIC. But was for both sides.
Looking forward to going to the game tomorrow. Was hoping Julio would be back, but it sounds more like later this week, and that's fine. No need to risk it.

Logan is one of the worst SP in the league per hard hit %. It was at 44%. That is not a good sign.

Sure hope Gilbert's dominating style returns his next time on the mound, and that Ray is able to keep it up. When Marco's not being bad Marco, we have a hell of a pitching corps.

The league is catching up to Gilbert. He needs to make some adjustments. That's what the MLB is all about, adjustments. He still has super stuff, he needs to work on sequencing and control.
