If you’ve been watching the season’s first four weeks play out, I should scarcely have to explain much of anything. Denver, with its so-good-it’s-ridiculous offense, has been scoring at a breathtaking pace and has the record-breaking Peyton Manning playing in shockingly career-best form. Seattle, with its intimidating and brash-talking defense, has risen to every challenge and features the NFL’s finest defensive play-maker in cornerback Richard Sherman.

Peyton Manning is surpassing even the highest peaks he himself has set, and someone who knows him well thinks it's only gonna get better. Peter King explains.
One of them is headed for the league’s MVP award and the other is going to take home the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year trophy. And I don’t know about you, but the theater of Manning testing his arm in Sherman’s direction a dozen times or so on Super Bowl Sunday in the Meadowlands might make me tune in for more than all those clever new commercials.

So much good to say about the hawks that when he talks about each team getting better as guys come off injury/suspension, he doesn't even mention that one Harvey Percin dude.

Lofty praise indeed. Frankly I'm more worried about the Colts at this juncture. 1 - 0 every week and the rest will take care of itself.

Daaaaaaaaamn. That made me feel good. 8)

When's the last time a national NFL guy confidently predicted the match-up four weeks in? The season's still early, for cryin' out loud!

Someone needs to go post this on the 49ers Web Zone. ;)

One game at a time and let the chips fall at the end of the season. Let's all be confident, but not overconfident.

I am EXACTLY as confident as I was when we were 0-0 in August.

Now that we are 4-0 I should tamp down my confidence? No thank you.

Somebody needs to revisit Marshawn's sideline proclamation during the Niner game.

Not asking you to damp down anything just not to be overconfident. But hey, if that floats your boat, then whatever makes you happy.

Question for those that want to contain the enthusiasm a bit. Do you also hold back your feels of elation while having sex because you know it's going to end?

Just curious.

At the end of sex, I am CERTAIN of that my jubilation will be matched by the disappointment of the person opposite me. That's not "Any Given Sunday."

Overconfident is a pretty subjective concept. Let me know how YOU measure where the tipping point is from confident to overconfident, please.

See what you did there, nice job. I do remember Percin, shame cuz we could use an extra body on the O line.....oh wait>>>>>

I am seriously excited about this team in all aspects except the Oline(which is snakebit). The war is won in the trenches and as great as the Hawks look on D, I have my reservations about our O. Heck, I am scared every week that we might lose our leader. I have to be a realist here. It sucks.

Articles like this just make me think one or both teams won't make the Superbowl.

KNEW IT. TOTALLY CALLED IT.

Not that there's anything wrong with it.
