I love me some Leon, but i'm not sure there is a player on our roster right now who i'd release for him. Especially since we have about 5 guys who can do what he does. I suppose maybe i'd release Pearson, but I wouldn't even consider Ware.

Some Patriots fan i know seem to think he has lost some speed/explosiveness over the off season. I don't know if that's just due to preseason or age.

All I know is that I really admired Leon as a player. Watching him run for 50 - 80 yards and get up slapping the ball and disappointed that he didn't get more or take it all the way. And that's how it always was with him. In a day and age when a guy makes a routine play and gets up acting like he just saved the world. Gonna miss that even more than the greatness that he added to our return game. I'll let the coaches worry about if he is still worth a roster spot because I am highly biased on this one.

All things considered, it would be unfair to call Leon "a flop" as a running back. (pre-injury) Leon was nothing shy of electric coming out of the backfield. But that was then. Great guy, great return man, but the next time Leon is wearing our colors, he'll be raising a flag (IMO).

Since we don't have room, i wouldn't love to have him back.

We do if we let Ware go.

Ware > Coleman.

So yeah, Washington over Coleman for the vet minimum, I would go for.

This.
Ware has alot more going for him, Im biased, i know but i've seen it.
Ware can throw the ball really really well, He was a highly rated QB coming out of HS, LSU converted him into the thumper that he is.
The Seahawks can do alot with him.
Leon, on the other hand, would just be for KR, which i think Kearse can do just fine at.

I think we have moved on and should continue on, we have guys that can handle all the duties we need, Harvin was going to be that guy anyway, was part of his great package. Yeah he would be put at risk but you can't protect everyone either.

One word. HARVIN :)

Four words: Physically Unable to Perform.

I think we have some good return guys already on the team.... we should be fine.

But I also think some of you underestimate how much of an impact Leon had for us.

It's better to let someone go a year too early than it is to let someone go a year too late. It's time to move on from Leon. Thanks for the memories and good luck in life.

You'd make a better GM than Tim Ruskell.
