Slowik would be an excellent choice. Considering the production he’s gotten out of Stroud (who he himself is a phenomenal talent), would pair well if Seattle drafts a QB.

Yeah which is why I'm not keen on Slowik. Would prefer a little more experience. Slowik's resume is a bit paper thin.

In his six years with San Francisco, Slowik served as the passing game coordinator (2022), passing game specialist (2021), offensive assistant (2019-20) and defensive quality control coach (2017-18).

He would be a downgrade from Pete Carroll, who had 9 years of experience of coaching a Pac-12 team, winning the Natty in one of them when he was hired. He also had head coaching stops with two other NFL teams. I don't expect the Seahawks new coach to have quite the same level of credentials, but Slowik's experience doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence for me. I could be wrong, and he could turn out great for whatever team hires him.

I just don't think 13 years in the league constitutes as a paper thin resume.

Yeah, it's just that from what I recall, guys like Slowik tend to flame out more often than not. Shanny and McVay are the exceptions to the rule.

Teams often miss on several coaches before hitting on one. The SF 49ers for example, have had several coaches since Walsh that didn't pan out. Only two have, Harbaugh and Shanny.

Seattle had Flores, Dennis Erikson (SF too), before they hit on Holmy, missed on Mora and hit on PC. We've been lucky to have a successful coach for 14 years. It was time but just purely from an odds perspective, it's more likely we miss on this next one, than hit on it.

Not trying to be a downer, just realistic.
