Logically that makes perfect sense. But some of us are holding on to the "potential" that he displayed. I didn't see him do anything impressive this preseason, Just what the coaches had been saying.

I'm on the fence.

If it is purely his skill on the field, I think he is in my top 10 DBs and makes the team.

If it is about filling the roster with coachable guys who are buying into the system and will contribute to a winning culture, I agree with Pete and cut Blair.

Blair had been bad for a few years now. He is kind of a player out of position, can kind of play in the box, and can't really cover. So there is no real home for him.

Blair looked great in the 2020 off-season and that carried over to the regular season... right up until KJ completely destroyed his knee with a gruesome helmet shot vs. the Patriots. Full year+ recovery only for it to not hold up the following season. He hasn't been the same player since, probably will never be, and I strongly disagree with any posts trashing him on his way out the door in what is really a sad situation.

Swain was outplayed by Hart, and for future upside I'd rather keep Dareke Young. This is an encouraging cut as it demonstrates that the front office is looking past this season.

I'd like to see Melton back on the PS as I was rooting for him, but he just had too many drops. Good physical traits are an asset but ultimately receivers need to catch the ball when they get a chance to make a play.

Wyman suggested that the Coleman veteran release is a roster strategy and they will re-sign him shortly. We'll see, but that makes sense as we also moved on from both Blair and Amadi.

Collier is my surprise keep. I think we'd be fine with the other six DL and would rather have kept another young player. Probably another roster strategy move where they think a player like Vi Jones is more likely to pass waivers.

Coleman getting released is a somewhat surprise. He seemed to be a lock with Amadi getting traded. With Bryant playing well there, he became expendable too.

Has he learned to tackle? I know he can hit but that isn't the same thing as making a sure tackle. Probably one of the reasons he is no longer a Seahawk.

Swain played to be cut so he could join the Broncos, somehow he has that antenna for sandlot throws. We may seen him on season opener?

Danny Shelton got released by the Chiefs. I think he would be a good add to the Seahawk defense. He is solid and can provide an interior pass rush.

Penny Hart was the death kneel for Swain.

Swain's biggest asset would have been to help on special teams... but he's not a good punt returner, not quick, and not a good first step. We have other players that can return punts (Eskridge, Hart, Lockett). Swain's drops didn't help his cause, either.
