Due to the Ravens putting belt-to-ass to the Packers, the Bears clinch the NFC North.

It's too bad because now it makes their game against the Niners not as meaningful for them.

That sucks as I wanted to see them go full-send in trying to win against them this Sunday Night.

Would've loved to have seen the massive disappointment by the crowd in Levis if the Bears would've won thus preventing the Niners from having any shot in hell of getting the 1 seed.

Despite the outcome of our game with the Panthers this morning, the Bears have plenty of motivation to beat the Niners this evening. A win tonight would put them in a position to secure the #1 seed in the NFC should we lose one of our last two and they win out as they would have a better conference record than both us and the Rams.

If we win this morning and the Niners lose to the Bears tonight, the Niners would fall two games behind us and out of the hunt for the #1 seed. In that scenario, no matter what else happens in Week 18, they'll be playing a road game in the first round. They may choose to rest some of their starters.

Go Bears. If the Niners win tonight and beat us next week, they will (potentially) play the last 5 games of their season, including the Super Bowl, at home. That is just unacceptable.

The Rams nearly did that in 2021 as the only playoff game they played away from SoFi that season was a divisional round game vs. the Bucs.

Actually, you're wrong about this. The Bears can still be the number 1 seed if they beat the 49ers and the 49ers beat the Seahawks. So they will be bringing it against the 49ers.

Yup!

That means if the Hawks win and the Niners lose today, the Niners, having already clinched a playoff spot, will have to go on the road in the wild card round no matter what happens in Week 18. Especially with the possibility of playing on a short week as there will be two wild card games played on Saturday, the Niners will be tempted to rest some of their players when they face us in the regular season finale.

Unless of course, Shannahan gets petty and goes the "If we can't have the #1 seed, no one can" route.

The Bears aren't letting up now. Even if they don't overtake the NFC West Champ for the #1 seed, they'd probably much rather play the Packers with half their team on IR in the wild card round, than drop to the 3 seed and face the Seahawks/Niners/Rams.

I doubt it. Ben Johnson wanted to inflate his massive ego and win the #1 seed in his first year. He will have that team jacked and ready to take on the 49ers.

There's two schools of thought. One is to rest your players in a meaningless game, the other is that you never let up, keep the pedal to the metal so as not to lose momentum, especially if you lost the previous week.
