100% pretenders. Soft early schedule gave us false hope. Losing 3 out of 4 when the competition increased is no coincidence. Just Reality.

Will you guys be here when we win our division? or you pretender fans only come when the Seahawks lose.

No they will simply wait until Hawks get bounced badly in the 2nd round...................................................AGAIN

I honestly think all the teams in the NFC are pretenders. They all have huge flaws. I think Tampa is the most balanced, but they will likely be a wild card.

If we can get healthy, I think we have a chance to be a real contender. But we need to get right on defense. At least we have potential to get a lot better. Whereas teams like the Packers and Cardinals kind of are what they are.

7-3 and in 1st place. And just knocked off the Cards.
Nope, other teams are pretenders maybe, not this team.

goodbye pretend fans
A lot of us didn't know WHEN or IF the open wound that is our defense would stop bleeding. All this defense needs to be is AVERAGE for the Hawks to have a legit shot of getting to the Super Bowl. We saw that in 2005, with unstoppable offense + average defense.

A little bit of Dunlap, in our line, a little bit of Snackster, workin inside, a little bit of Jamal, is all we need, a whole lot of JReed is what I see. (To the tune of Mambo No. 5)

The reality this year is that teams are getting so beat up with injuries, that any team that makes the playoffs and can field something resembling their varsity squad at that time has a chance to go deep into the playoffs.

Damn it was encouraging to see our defense take a step forward tonight against AZ.

We are pretenders. I still think that we're going to be knocked out in the divisional round. I'm not too impressed by this team, or its coaching in general. We have huge hurdles to overcome, and one game isn't enough to convince me otherwise.

This year.

With Covid, and injuries, teams health and available players due to Covid protocols will determine who is where and it may not be the best teams.

You notice each day more and more teams having Covid issues, we are just past half way, going to be an issue.

So health and availability.

We will see. But do pretenders go 13-3 or 12-4? Honestly, unless we lose to a bad team, that will be our record. And our D the last 2 weeks has shown signs of being a average D, which is much better than a terrible D. With this D we can make a run in the playoffs.

Every team.in the NFL, outside the Steelers, is a pretender by the logic being applied to Seattle.

Agreed. It's funny how some apply a logic to one team but bypass that same logic when evaluating other teams. I guess it's just a team closest to your heart is held to a higher standard than others. Just the NFC contenders below and their bad losses-

Bucs - lost to the Bears and Saints twice.
Saints - Lost to the Raiders and Packers. Bigger concern is Brees out for the foreseeable future.
Packers - boatraced by Bucs and lost to the Vikes plus barely beat the lowly Jaguars at home.
Seahawks - We know about them (see the hundreds of threads in this forum)
Rams - Lost to the Dolphins, Bills, and 49ers. Barely beat the Cowboys.
Cards - Lost to the Lions, Dolphins, and Panthers.

Each team has its clink in the armor, so to speak.
