Are we good enough to complain about power rankings again?

Let's just win on Sunday and see where they go. Even if it doesn't matter, still interested to see where they would put the Hawks after beating GB.

Because some of us enjoy the discussion and analysis even if it doesn't actually "mean" anything. Nothing we do here means anything, but here we are. I don't get the point in interjecting yourself in discussions you don't want to have just to tell everyone that you don't care. It's unproductive and belittling.

I even used the phrase "power rankings" in the title. It would be an easy thread to ignore for those who think power rankings are below them.
I don't enjoy complaining and many others don't either. So if you start a thread about compaining, many people will tell you to get over it.

If the thread is titled "Let's Discuss Our Ranking" followed by pertinent discussions about why teams should be ranked higher/lower...well, you would still get people saying "I don't give Rat's A$$" (pun intented). And I'm ok with that.

I like them, they are a lot of fun and generate some good debate

Most of the time I can see the logic but theres bound to be some bias too, it can’t be helped

I'm strange anyway, but I LOVE when the Hawks get ranked super low and/or "dissed" by the media. Makes it more fun when they're wrong, which they so often are.
You know the announcers, media and everyone else will be gobbin on the knobs of GB on Sunday. Please please please tell the Hawks they will get smoked.

I can't decide where I rank the Hawks, and I watch every play. We had a losing streak before we started the winning streak. I'm getting more confident with each win....but I don't expect the national press to be super confident in the Seahawks.

Doesn't have any impact on playoff seeding anyway.

It's a toughie. If you rank them too high, you're a homer. If you rank them too low, you're a Debbie :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Haven't taken even 5 minutes to really think about it, but I would have us around 10.

Not worried about it. The next couple games will drastically change the power rankings for the Hawks if they can win those.

If we look at all of the other 8-5 teams.

Notable wins/losses are losing to any team below rank #13 or beating any team above rank #13 (8-5 record).

Listed are losses, notable losses and notable wins:

- Ravens - Chiefs, Raiders, Browns, Eagles, Steelers. Notable losses - Browns and Raiders. Notable wins - Bills, Commanders, Broncos, Chargers.
- Chargers - Chiefsx2, Steelers, Cardinals, Ravens - Notable loss - Cardinals. Notable Win - None
- Commanders - Bucs, Ravens, Steelers, Eagles, Cowboys - Notable losses - Bucs, Cowboys. Notable win - None
- Texans - Vikings, Packers, Jets, Lions, Titans. - Notable losses - Jets, Titans. Notable win - Bills
- Broncos - Seahawks, Steelers, Chargers, Ravens, Chiefs - None. Notable win - None
- Seahawks - Lions, Giants, 49ers, Bills, Rams - Notable losses - Giants, 49ers, Rams. Notable Wins - Broncos

If I took the green and blue glasses off. I can see why the Seahawks are ranked last of the 8-5 teams. They somewhat have the tie-breaker on the Broncos, but the Broncos have only lost to what are considered "good" teams at this stage in the season. And yes, we understand the potential and talent on the Rams and 49ers, but at this current time in the season they are both teams with subpar records.

If the Hawks win the next two games against the Packers and Vikings, everyone will be adjusting where they stand. If the Hawks lost the next two games, I think even we as fans will acknowledge where the ranking would land after.

The title was tongue-in-cheek, but your point stands. I should have known what was coming when I started the thread anyway. Was just bored at work. I just think it's dumb to jump into a thread to say that you don't care about it.

Lots of dumb stuff here, some by myself included...but it's worth sifting through to get the nuggets of value and entertainment.

Let the ranking guys rank as they wish, IRCGAF.

I always prefer my team being underrated, after all we are from So. Alaska or just another irrelevant WC team to the eastern media.

Give a Fig about stuff that actually means something; like what's for lunch, or who actually won the game played, rather than what some mediots think about that team.

ESPN, as usual, blows. The Athletics has a more realistic version:

9. Seattle Seahawks (8-5)

Last week: 12

Sunday: Beat Arizona Cardinals 30-18

Breakout player: Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba

This is the player Seattle thought it was getting when it took Smith-Njigba with the 20th pick last year. He leads the Seahawks with 75 catches for 911 yards, which is 12 more catches and 283 yards more than he had all of last season. He had five catches for 82 yards Sunday, and he’s third in receiving yards per game (104.6) since Week 9.

Up next: vs. Green Bay Packers, Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET

Even under Pete we were Jekyll and Hyde, we eeked out wins under him due to his Game Management style, thus the defibrillators in every Fans home, now days we have aspects that look great one week and reset to WTF the next, hard to rank a team on potential. I had no real expectations other then wanting to see us improve over the year and look like a challenger going forward. Those expectations have been met, now just want to see more consistency. How far that takes us is to be determined, Raiders and Seahawks two franchises the League and Media love to give disrespect too.

Before the season kicked off I thought we’d be around the middle, so ranked at 16-17 with an 8-9 or a 9-8 record at the end of the regular season

We may still end up there but at present we are trending towards top 10, probably around 12

Need a statement win against a really good team, opportunities coming up

Good post.

In regards to where we rank in regards to the other 8-5 teams? Ravens ahead of us? Definitely, honestly I was surprised to see their record wasn't better. Chargers? Sure. Commanders? Inexplicably lost to the Cowboys two weeks ago, but they've been consistently competitive against strong teams, so I won't argue this one. Broncos? Eh... I can see an argument either way.

The Texans though, absolutely cannot agree with that. There's no logic in having them higher.

ESPN has us ranked 13th, which is dead last among the 8-5 teams.

Among those other 8-5 teams is the Texans, who they have 11th. In our last five games, we're 4-1 with an OT loss to a Rams team that just beat the Bills followed by four consecutive victories. In the Texans' last five games, they have losses to the Jets and Titans, blew a 23-7 halftime lead to the Lions, and most recently, barely beat the reeling Jaguars by a score of 23-20, in a game where they cheap-shotted Trevor Lawrence onto IR early, and then gave up 235 yards and 2 TDs to no picks and a QB rating of 105 to Mac Jones. For context, in the four games he has played at least most of (three starts and this game), he has two TDs - those two TDs - and his second-best QB rating is a 66.
I give zero phucks about those rankings. Those rankings are based on media darling teams and favorite players by whoever ranks the teams. There is no stats involved or what you mentioned about the last 5 games. None of that shit matters in the rankings by the mouth breathing jizz bag NFL media people. They can all kiss my white ass.

Facts. I can't wait to see the pregame predictions and then the crow getting picked over after we pull off the "upset" by said predictors that pick GB to win!!
