His attitude you cant coach and dont want to pay for anyway.
they are nothing alike. Not even close.Another Darnold in the making? But wait, we have the original Darnold! But wait again, we have the original Darnold on a year-to-year contract. But wait wait wait, ain't the original Darnold the second coming of the original Geno?
So confused. It has to be Mimosa, I must quit drinking before 11. Oh sorry, it's geNO, not Genco, again, it's the Mimosa typing.
I disagree. These players need time to develop. I've seen so many QBS thrown into the fire way too early, and it often ruins them. There's too much at stake at QB.Is it really?
Their contract pays more each year and then the 5th year option.
Year 6 it's either you sign him to a new deal for big $$$ or use the
franchise tag and then do a new deal.
All this for some QB who has been playing for only 3 years and shows
something but needs more experience.
The Colts didn't ruin AR, he's a man and supposed to be a pro.
He is limited with weaknesses that you cannot coach up, just like many
QBs that get over drafted and never hear from again.
If you're going for a physical specimen, I'd draft Jalen Milroe in the second round. He ran a 4.37 40-yard dash. Faster than Richardson.
Better passer, too.
He should not have been drafted early unless he was ready.I disagree. These players need time to develop. I've seen so many QBS thrown into the fire way too early, and it often ruins them. There's too much at stake at QB.
Richardson in particular needed time. He was barely a starter at Florida for one year.
This is the most difficult position in team sports. And Richardson was what, 20, when he came out?
I don't think he's limited with weaknesses that can't be coached up. If NFL execs agreed with you, he wouldn't have been drafted where he was.
One of the reasons the Packers have had three starting QBs over the course of 30 plus years is because they have perspective on this subject.
Milroe was not only an academic All-American, he won the Campbell award this year as the top scholar-athlete for this year. You wouldn't expect it for the QB at Alabama, but he took academics seriously and has talked about how important that is to him. Really good guy. I think he could be a steal if he falls to us in the second round. I mean he's 4.37 speed at 6' 2" and 225 pounds.Yeah. I'm actually warming up to Milroe as our 52nd, 82nd, 92nd pick depending upon how the draft board shakes out in the coming weeks. High character, hard worker, great athlete, NFL arm, academic all American...yes, I know he tailed off last season, the fanbase turned against him, and he became prone to bad decision making at times; but he's actually got all the tools as a developmental QB. I'd have no problem with picking him, taking a shot on his potential.
So he spent time.. focusing on his actual future than that of a QB in the NFL... Good for him... but he's not an NFL QB... Unlike Richardson, he played all 4 years at Alabama, started the last two. Also, unlike Richardson, he is a 65% passer. If he was coming off his junior year, he would be a first round pick, no question.
I agree Milroe's a gamble. You probably know better than me, I only saw a couple of his games last season. So he spent time.. focusing on his actual future than that of a QB in the NFL... Good for him... but he's not an NFL QB... Just my opinion
This coming from a Alabama family... father who played LB in the 50s etc, Then transitioned to basketball for Duke when his family moved to Carolinas etc.
Henry.. I wanted to draft... Hurts... I wanted to draft (even though people called him a bust)
WE even drafted a Bama OL that I REFUSED To want... as the scheme was NOT his fit; Carpenter; Who literally lacked in our scheme six ways to sunday
Our current Seahawk who I still love is Reed.... who we picked 4 spots after Derrick FRIGGEN Henry........
Imagine if we would have lucked into that pick... holy moly the focus could have been on the OL the entire time then
Number one for me is having a processor to play QB at a high level..Yeah. I'm actually warming up to Milroe as our 52nd, 82nd, 92nd pick depending upon how the draft board shakes out in the coming weeks. It's not just his running speed. He's got one of the best arms in the draft. I agree about the processing/decision making. But there are plenty of college QB's who hadn't developed that skill yet when they were drafted. Josh Allen comes to mind.Number one for me is having a processor to play QB at a high level..
I question his and without it, I'm not wasting my time oohing and ahhing
over their running speed.
Great arm? It's not just his running speed. He's got one of the best arms in the draft. I agree about the processing/decision making. But there are plenty of college QB's who hadn't developed that skill yet when they were drafted. Josh Allen comes to mind.
If we're not going to trade up for one of the top QB's (some think there may be only one or two of them), then we're going to have to take a shot at one of the second or third tier QB's. I'm just saying I have no problem with taking a shot on a QB who's a tremendous athlete, has good size, and a great arm on top of that. Those are things you can't teach/coach up. With Darnold in the fold, there'd be no pressure to play him the first couple of years. And if he comes to naught, so be it.
Who else do we go for? They've all got warts.
