Fries to Minnesota.

That one hurts. Need massive improvement from Haynes and Olu this year.

Rookie incoming early but was really hoping we were not locked into one with first two picks.

Bummer. But it's ALL teams that missed out on signing him, not just the Hawks. Exactly why I just don't let myself freak out every time someone signs a deal somewhere else. It's not always cut and dry "Why didn't we do that, John Schneider sucks!"

Sometimes, a guy just wants to go where a guy wants to go. That's the whole benefit of being a free agent. As in free to choose where you go.
We don't know if or how much was offered. Some guys choose to play closer to home, others want to go to a contender, others it's all about highest bidder.

That all being said, I'll make up my popcorn, this is gonna' be good.

Vikes are building a powerful OL with the money they have to work with. NFC is going to be tough, tough.

Yep let's let all the top end FAs walk right past us with the 5th or 6th most cap space. Maybe we're gonna draft some more convertable Dlinemen, try that experiment again. Should work out fine. 👍
Yeah it is frustrating to watch other NFC teams sign OL upgrades while JS made it a priority to sign a depth player that is often signed with the second or third wave of free agency. What a strange start to this off season so far...

Next up???

Wonder how close the team was as it was believed the team was close on reaching as deal with Fries?

It's early yet.

I didn't really believe JS would dole out a contract like that deep down. That's why I've been advocating for RG James Daniels who is an absolute beast in the run game but already signed with Miami unfortunately. And LG Treven Jenkins who is solid and would be a pretty decent upgrade over any of the guard play we got last season. Both were expected to be had at fairly reasonable cotracts. Daniels signed for 3yr / $24M and Jenkins could sign for something similar, maybe a little more.

Outside of that there's not much left except Kevin Zeitler who is 34 last I checked.

710 said they were def. in the mix. Dude probably just wanted to play where dude wanted to play. Let's be real, he went to a better team.

The Vikes now have Fries and Ryan on the inside as a 1+2 combo on the OL. The Vikings are going to be a tough out once again.

The only thing I wanted out of this FA period, as far as external signings, was for the Hawks to pick up Dalman OR Fries. That's it. It would have put so much less stress on us going into the draft. We have all this f#% cap space and John still couldn't do it. And don't tell me "maybe they just didn't wanna come here." Bull. Money talks. You offer them significantly more than the next closest team, especially if you have all this cap space and this glaring of a need. And if they still don't wanna come here after that, you are horrible at selling your organization. What kind of recruiter are you? John Schneider is failing at his job and I cannot wait until he is no longer our general manager.
