We need help on the O line or at the very least figure out how to use the high picks we already have effectively, I think there is some of that in the mix to think about, we also now need at least 2 WR's and a TE along with a physical RB and FB. We made some cap room for sure but you have skill level players to pay now and draft as well, they cost.

Yeah, thank goodness we didn't do those Dalman and Fries deals. I'm sure Bears and Vikings fans are bummed out. I can't wait to see who John drafts to fix our IOL. With his track record, I'm sure they'll be great and have an immediate impact. 🌈 🦄

With both Cross & Lucas' 2nd contracts fast approaching, it would be smart to address IOL high in the draft. Use two of our top five picks on OLine including at least one of our top 3 picks on a OG.
I wouldn't grab a FA just for due diligence optics, lets get some plus performance & value.

This is like your wife driving a crappy car for several years as you promise to buy her a better one while passing up several SUV's in great condition. Then, when you finally get the money, your wife finds an expensive sports car that's going to depreciate by one-third when you drive it off the lot.

The Fries deal wasn’t a good one. Being a drama queen isn’t either.

As a reminder, Christian Haynes played in the wide zone scheme in college. Perhaps he didn't fit well in the Grubb's scheme but will be a better fit with Kubiak's wide zone. I'd like to think the professionals know what they are doing.

I'd like to think they know what they're doing as well, but when it comes to OL, it sure doesn't look like they know what they're doing.

As has been mentioned many, many times around here, the OL has been a problem for a long time. After years of fielding poor to down right awful OL's, we just finished last season with one of the worst OL's in the league.

When you've had years to fix a glaring problem, but year after year it keeps not getting fixed, maybe you don't really know what you're doing? (referring to OL here)

I'm hopeful that a new scheme under Kubiak will result in improved OL play, but that remains to be seen. Coaching can only do so much, imo. At some point you probably need some quality IOL players.

Just so I know. Are we counting yesterday which was the first unofficial day of fa, or do we start tomorrow as the first day because that’s when these signings are official? I just need to know if the winning starts Thursday or Saturday.
I think Sunday we will have a much clearer idea on how to answer that question. I too do not know :ROFLMAO:

Reminds me of last season when we cheaped out at LB and the rationale around here was that Mac would coach them up.

Do you know my wife? This is awkward.

Yeah, me too. Just trying to be optimistic that there's some sort of hope that the OL play will improve.

Cross and Lucas are our tackles. We just need depth/insurance.

The LG needs filled, I think that will be round 1, maybe 2 or 3 (the drop off from what you get in round 3 is not much from round 1, just in round 1 you have more to pick from) Grey Zabel is a nice fit and played with Sundell in college, he's versatile.
Center - I think MM really really likes Sundell. He fits better than OLU in this scheme as well. He just needs more time to develop but he is very promising.
RG - Christian Haynes is the perfect fit for this scheme. I bet he is the starter there and he will surprise people. The scheme was not a fit for him at all last year and I heard Grubb just didn't like him.

The line needs continuity more than anything. I'm not saying this would be an amazing line in 2025, but the more they play together the better they will get.

I think this staff sees a lot of good pieces on the roster, maybe they can unlock that now with a much better staff. now Adding competition would be ideal but it's not as bad as it seems.

Leave it to JS to waste draft picks and money on overrated bums like Jamal Adams but decide to be cheap on areas we need.

Every offseason:

1) we need to invest in the line.
2) Sources link us to big names guys.
3) Linemen sign with other teams.
4) “Wow such an overpay” -This forum.
5) Draft/sign bargain linemen.
6) O-line sucks.
7) Repeat

Better beef up that line or we gonna have a repeat of this bullshit.....
