I originally thought it would be tough for us to pull out a better record than 2-2 versus the AFC south mainly because the two hardest games are on the road (INDI and HOU). However, after the weekend, I felt as though we may have a pretty good shot at 3-1 or 4-0 versus this division. Indi just barely beat a terrible Oakland team at home. And Houston would have lost to SD were it not for Cushing's pick 6.

What are your thoughts on our record versus this division?

It's going to be very tough to win in Houston. I'm hoping the onslaught of us 12's invading will help. I don't like the match-up of their D line against our O line at all.

I think we will win in Indy...so 3-1 seems very likely and who knows, if we get into a shootout with the Texans we can win that one too.

Teams in the NFL look entirely different on a weekly basis due to matchups, performance variance, injuries and scheduling among other factors.

I guess I feel supremely confident that we go 2-0 at home. I fully expect us to win 1 of 2 in our back to back games vs Indy and Houston.

And I'd give it an 80% chance of sweeping the AFC South if we take down Houston.

Keep in mind we should have more pass rushers for Luck in Indy. That will provide a big boost.

I just looked up Houston's record AT HOME versus NFC over the past three seasons:
1-5 record, being outscored 164-83!

Bodes VERY well for the Hawks!

GO HAWKS!!

I frankly was not concerned about the AFC SOUTH when the schedule came out. The Texans got beat easily against teams that were good last year. All of their losses last year were by double digits. 3 of the 4 were by 17 or more points.

Meanwhile the Colts are still an incomplete team. They are scrappy but I don't see them being as difficult as the Texans.

I'm more concerned with the NFC South.

Good point, remember when the Texans got man-handled by the Harvinless Vikings last year at home?

They got spanked by the Packers as well - 42-24. Rodgers had 6 TD passes.

I think Houston is going to be really tough. Like Greg said, their D line vs our O line scares me. JJ Watt alone vs our O line scares the hell out of me. It's still winnable though, as is every game with this team and RW. But it will be a hard one to get.

Indy not quite THAT difficult. But it won't be easy either. Luck has an extra bit of magic at home, it seems. Indy went 7-1 at home last year. Many of which were close games that Luck pulled out in the 4th qtr. Still remains to be seen how good they actually are, given how weak their schedule was last year and the fact that they had so many close wins. But Luck is the real deal, and they play well at home.

I will be attending both games. If we come out of the two games with a win I'll be stoked. 2 and I'll be through the moon.

Go Hawks.

Okung steps up against elite pass rushers, but Watt raced past him last year in the ProBowl. Houston will be a real good test for us. As a bonus, Houston goes to San Fran the week after facing us. Would much rather send them into the Niners off an L, than relaxed after beating us in what is sure to be a hard-hitting contest.

Good point. And part of the reason why them beating GB last week isn't a terrible thing. I would have expected a more disciplined effort after a loss.

It's at 10am, so I could see the Texans winning. But FWIW, the Texans have really struggled against top tier opponents, and even some middle tier opponents. I don't want to call them pretenders, but I suspect they wouldn't be a playoff team in the NFC, especially if they were in the NFC West.

What no mention of the Titans coming to Seattle to kick ass!?

Seeing as I'm going to be travelling 4500 miles to see this game i'm going to big up the Titans.

I think the Titans D will win this game (if they win). They will have an incredibly tough job keeping Wilson quiet, the Titans offense will not outgun the Seattle offense. I dont think the Titans will pass much at all, Sherman is too big a threat in the backfield and if we turn the ball over there is 0 chance of a win.

However in saying that I cant wait to get to seattle for this game!!

I don't want to sound like I'm overlooking the Titans D, but no one on there really scares me and there's not much of a track record of great play from that defense. I have concerns about CJ2k and Britt though because when those two are on, they're hard to stop, especially CJ. Washington is is no slouch either. The Oline is one of the best in the league on paper so they'll be a challenge.

Not to high on Locker and since we're at home, I like our chances. As always though, never overlooking an opponent and I expect a tough game.

I full agree, its a new unit, it went up against a not so great Steelers Offense, I think there is a lot of potential but by gameweek 6 we'll know whether the Titans D is a top performing unit.

C2J is a big threat aslong as the o-line perform well.

on a side note, can anyone recommend a good place for post game beers?
