I have to go Byron Murphy II. Outside of JS getting a QB in the first round that he really liked, Murphy was the only guy I really wanted in the first round. When the draft got to about the 9th or 10th pick, I was kind of holding my breath that he would fall to us and that the Hawks would take him. And Voila! It actually happened.

I don't know what kind of a career or start to a career he'll have, but if he becomes a bona fide anchor in the middle of our line, that would be so big for us.

So that's me...

I had to go with Murphy. Interior pass rush for Pete's sake! (Intended)

We have needed that so bad for so many years. Qbs dodge edges routinely, but have a much harder time when the rush comes from the middle.

Next is Haynes. Basically for the same reason, just opposite.

I was going to say Satoa Laumea but, Knight is my choice because I really feel like we have needed linebackers now for 3 years. He has a ton of upside and will get a chance to play right now.

When I first read about Knight after the draft, I immediately thought that this guy will be my AaR. Not a very personal choice but Tyrice it is.

I love a long shot, I'll go with George Holani this year. The Log truck with no breaks!

That and, its going to take players from the bottom side of this rooster to make a difference this year.

Interesting UDFA.

"Who’s George Holani? He’s pretty rad. Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Holani grew up playing rugby with his dad. “I started him in it so he could get used to the physicality,” his father, Saia Holani, told the Idaho Statesman in 2020. “In football, there’s blockers. In rugby, you have to find your own way. That forces players to understand angles and read the space.”" -

Both Running Backs Coach Kennedy Polamalu and Special Teams Coach Jay Harbaugh should have a lot of interest in Holani.

I'm looking forward to enjoying Special Teams standing out in a special way this year.

Michael Jarrell for me. After taking UDFA George Fant back in the day, I seem to have an affinity for overlooked, but athletic, Tackle Prospects. Listen to his news conference on Youtube, extremely well spoken, high character, loyal. Would love to see him develop into a solid starter in the lineup. Just like Fant, he was a basketball player as well that converted to Football, so a lot of raw athleticism. Young man not only got his degree, but also earned his MBA.
Well, it's nice to see my Adopt-A-Rookie Longshot from 2024 (Michael Jarrell) made the team, only to back-up my Adopt-A-Rookie Longshot from 2016 (George Fant) since Abe Lucas will still be sitting for a while. I need to play Powerball or something this weekend.

He just seems like a dude that wants wants to break a neck or two.

Within the rules of the game of course.

Sometimes these guys understand where they came from and will not let an opportunity like this escape them. I have nothing to substantiate my claim but he IS a linebacker.

I'm just going to leave this right here. Good day's work by the young man. I hope this is the first start of many for him.
