So there I was , phone blowing up , congrats coming left and right . But with 31 seconds left I couldnt even really smile. I remembered a few weeks back at Chicago , where our prevent defense proved costly. I also remembered why Matt Ryan is called Matty ice. I told one of my friends it ain't over yet , even tho I really wish it was. Anyone else feel this way?

side note.
Great Game Seahawks. I really didn't want to end the season with a Blow-out.
I Thank you for showing up and taking the lead . I told another friend that with 2 mins left down 6 , all seahawk fans around the world would loved the situation in front of us.

I cant be that mad. Wilson drove down the field for the game winning drive that wasnt - agaisnt the number 1 seed. Away from Seattle and a 1 pm est game at that. We have a bright future. very excited for the whole team to have an offseason behind its new leader.

I basically expected it.

However, even with 6 seconds left I thought Wilson could still win it for us

I felt it was a great possibility, just because they only needed 40 or so yards, had timeouts, and were making great catches all day

But it wasn't supposed to ACTUALLY happen :177692:

I was caught up in the moment. As soon as Matt Ryan completed the first pass, I knew we were going to lose.

I watched the Falcons do the exact same thing against Carolina, so I was definitely nervous.

Matty Ice is actually a holdover nick-name from college, having to do with "Natty Ice", or Natural Ice, which is a cheap beer (good for shotgunning).

Yes. Everyone in the house was freaking out when Lynch got the TD, but I kept saying "they have time" -- and I had no faith in the defense in that situation without a pass rush.

Leaving 31 seconds on the clock with our go ahead score, we thought...crap! left too much time on the clock. Proved to be the case with our vaunted prevent defense. :sarcasm_off:

It's also pretty good at stripping paint, tooth enamel, and lining of the digestive tract.

Just wish we had 7 more seconds for one more play to the 30 yard line. I didn't fully understand the thought process on Atlanta's kickoff. Maybe, just maybe if Russell could have waited one more second before the Hail Mary we could have had a receiver in the end zone. That would have been such a great way to win

Crazy as it sounds, I was surprised that he didn't.

Yes, I even posted it on Facebook when somebody else started badmouthing the Falcons thinking the game was in the bag......*sigh*

I had more confidence in Wilson with 6 seconds than our defense with 31 needing to hold them to a field goal.

That is terrible.

As a Falcons fan, every time Matt is presented with this kind of end of game situation, I'm torn. My eyes tell me, oh this game is over. My heart says, yeah, but this is Matt we're talking about. Until the clock is :00, there is always time. Of course, it doesn't mean I'm not shocked every time it happens. The Seahawks played well enough to win, and I suspect that we'll be meeting in playoffs of the future. Two great teams, and I hope we can come out next week and beat down your division rivals, a team we hate as bad, or worse, than you do, lol.

31 seconds, with what 2 timeouts? And us just going prevent..... no pass rush. I knew it was plenty of time. I was hoping for Ryan to choke, but he made the throws he needed to, and we were out of magic at that point.

supposed to kick the 65 yarder and make it, thats why they have records, so they can be broken, even then receivers are at least supposed to get into position to catch the hail mary

I saw a lot of poor effort today like if it wasn't going to be easy they didn't want it, they're good but not that good, as we saw today..

maybe next year?

I didn't celebrate at all when we scored that touchdown. No way I was going to allow myself to feel any happiness until the clock hit 0.

Honestly, I didn't even really celebrate our final touchdown. And I usually wake up the street celebrating.

It just seemed like an eternity 31 seconds with two time outs. I said to my wife (who wasn't really watching or listening) that we needed to get a big play early - sack, few yards lost and need to burn a timeout. Instead, Ryan makes a nice big pass completion and you just knew then what was going to happen.

When Brady/New England had a minute on the clock I KNEW we were going to win that game - and I think we got a sack on their final drive. This time, didn't have the same feeling.
