So I wrote about this topic right as the season ended but thought it was worth repeating.
Just to put things in perspective of how bad the 2021 Hawks O and D were, the team averaged a time of possession of 25:17 which was the lowest of ANY TEAM that I could find and I went back as far as 2003 which was a total of 575 teams. Others who also searched said they went back further and could not find any team worse in the last 30+ years.
That is a staggering stat!!!
That is maybe the worst stat I have seen as a Hawk fan since the 80’s. The D couldn’t get off the field for a lot of the season and the O couldn’t sustain a drive for much of the season. This must have killed Pete inside as we all know how he loves to run and control the clock.
Pete, Clint, Waldron, etc., have a lot of work to do.
