It kind of just hit me (at least partly) why I didn't get too worked up after the recent loss to Detroit..

It reminded me of the loss against New Orleans in 2010.

Even though we got beat down in NOLA in November of that year, we actually played really well, especially Matt Hasselbeck. And for those you either living under a rock or doing hard time, we went on to kick New Orleans' ass (the reigning SB Champs) in the Wild Card round at home with the Beast Quake exclamation point.

I can't nail it down to anything more tangible than a gut feeling, but this team, under this new leadership, kind of reminds me of those heady days of the early Pete Carroll Seahawks and what was come.

My shrink told me that talking about this would lead to nothing but heartache and boozing, but screw her, she is over paid!

That Detroit game gave me flashbacks and completely reminded me of the Pittsburg Superbowl. The refs messed up so many calls!

That's funny, I just looked that game up and I have absolutely no memory of Julius Jones playing for the Saints.

What I do recall though, is that my primary frustration of Pete Carroll at the time was his insistence on starting Hasselbeck each week when I was extremely itchy for the beginning of the Charlie Whitehurst era.

In my defense, you all saw that intoxicating beard and those long, flowing locks. My capacity for rational thinking has been compromised by far less pretty.
