    Your draft pick grades

Me grading our draft picks would be like a 5 year old marking a PHD paper but here are my thoughts: Zabel: We had to get one of the top IOL which I think the options were Zabel, Booker, Banks and at a push Jackson (if an elite talent at another position of need dropped to us at 18). Before the...

This Draft seems to be focused on one thing

That assumes Mel Kiper knows more about player value than the Seahawks (or any other NFL teams) draft room. On that assumption we would have got better value getting Sanders at 18 instead of Zabel.

    Pick 18: Grey Zabel

At a minimum, the way the OL's were flying off the shelves I could have seen the Buccs or Steelers taking Zabel leaving the Vikings with Jackson at 24.

    Pick 18: Grey Zabel

Before the draft I was thinking 18 was too high for Zabel, but with our free agency signing being n other areas we really needed one of the top options for IOL. In mocks I had either gone for Banks at 18 to have as guard (if available which he was maybe half the time), or trade down and pick up...

    Pick 18: Grey Zabel

Pre draft I was thinking 18 was high for Zabel but most draft boards has him and Booker is a similar place, with Booker going at 12 and the top tier OTs gone (I fancied us getting Banks at 18 with potential to play guard) if we traded down and Zabel went we would be struggling to give our O-line...

Cleveland Fielding Offers for 2nd Pick

I wouldn't be pissed if it was an expensive failure. Giving up three first rounders for someone who ends up being a 3rd stringer who only gets 4 starts would be great. (Trey Lance II)

Speculation: Could Sam Howell be traded?

I think Howell is a perfectly servicable back-up that is cheap as chips so we should be able to get a 6th or at worst 7th for him. Other teams might want to see if a QB falls to them in the draft so he could be traded after the draft for a 2026 pick. Could even happen during pre season if...

Who DON'T you want at 18

    Deion Smith (RB BYU)

Prediction: Hawks will draft Ewers or Howard

We also have Hall and Rhys Plumlee (I know he is recorded as WR but virtuall all his college play was at QB). I do not think we are planning on drafting a QB but teams try to get into a position where they can draft BPA. I think we will only take the likes of Ewers or Howard if they become...

    Drew Lock Returns

I can't see Howell staying on the team, I expect someone will give up a 6th rounder for him, or at least a 7th. What about Rhys Plumley, why is he listed as WR, in college he throw threw the ball 760 times and caught it 26. We really have 5 QBs on the roster at the moment. My view is Darnold...

Our 2025 franchise QB is better than #25!!!

I agree Darnod will be in a different situation than Geno was last year, subject to what happens between now and opening day it does look as if the receiving corps will be worse but I don't get the "just ignore the new OC" part. Last year we also had a new OC. Grubb had no NFL background and...

Our 2025 franchise QB is better than #25!!!

The 49ers QB situation was a little more complex than that, Lance started 2022 as 1st choice QB dispite disappointing in 2021 but only played 2 games before getting injured, Jimmy Garapollo was back-up but he also got injured and Purdy was 3rd string and did fairly well until he also got injured...

Our 2025 franchise QB is better than #25!!!

There are many factors that affect how well a QB performs, Hawkblogger compares the O-lines but the quality of the receiving corps, the threat of the run game and the inginuity of the OC / HC are some of the other factors that make an impact. He also points out that you should not assess a...

    2025 Mock

Everyone is saying fix the O-line so this is my mock for doing exactly that. Probably the best two guards and centre in the draft. A decent tackle to back up Lucas if (when) he is injured and remember TE's line up on the OL as well so 5 o-line picks is the first 82. Would you be happy if went...

What Happens If They Dont Draft OL?

We are in desperate need of IOL other teams less so. At 18 the best IOL might be the 12th BPA so unless another team really like him more than everyone else they are very likely to be around for quite a few more picks. Taken to extreme should we trade out 2026 and 2027 1st round picks to trade...

What Happens If They Dont Draft OL?

The consensus draft boards have Booker as the top IOL going around 25 followed by Zabel at around 35 and Jackson at around 40. Taking one of those at 18 seems to be a bit of a reach, while we could trade down given the pickes we currently have I think the best option is to trade up from 50 (or...

    Shedeur for #18?

Did I miss something? The Panthers extended Dalton and hadn't heard any news of a trade since then and I would surprised if we got him having just invested in Darnold. A lot of people are thinking Darnold is a bridge, his contract is one that would be fairly painless to cut him after a year or...

    Shedeur for #18?

I think his attitude is very like Johnny Manziel, disrespect for coaches and over arrogent. Manziel had even more raw talent than Shadeur and like Shadeur predictions of his draft position varied from top 3 to undraftable. We know how Johnny Football did. On the RW comparison, there were no...

    If I didn't know any better…

Don't you get flagged if you try to play with 12 personnel on the field :)

    If I didn't know any better…

Darnolds stats were better than Geno's but he had what is probably the best receiver set in the league, and a far superior O-line and OC. You may disagree but given what he had around him I think Geno did better than Darnold last season.
