    Fair enough. That's all well and gone for Raven and Wolverine fans. But I look at what's in a coaches past more so as what got him the job, but not something that earns your keep; and definitely not amounting to much if it doesn't show up for the Hawks on Sundays.

    I gotta be honest, and I usually lean towards the optimistic; but I am more than a little concerned that first time DC's from his same coaching DNA - Jesse Minter and Dennard Wilson - are fielding excellent defenses with what I don't view to be superior talent to what MM has to work with.

    I hope it isn't the case; but there is a non-zero chance the Grubb and Huff just aren't NFL calibre coaches. I hope not though. But there is something to be said for the baseline floor of pure NFL-level mediocrity offered up my coaches like Bevell, Schotty, and Solari.

    Recent ones that come to mind are Love and Nwosu. Laviska seems to offer a nice threat in the return game with some sound tackling on kick coverage. TBD with Jobe. Guys like Hankins, Jarran Reed and Al Woods (previously) have done some pretty good work in the trenches relative to cost.

    Records through two games are largely a function of schedule. There needs to be a bigger sample size to justify any significant movement up and down the power rankings.
