Rams in advanced trade talks for Stafford and Kupp

I agree with getnasty. DK is 5 years younger than Kupp and doesn't have the injury history. You could get a 1st rounder for him, although I wouldn't trade him. As NoGain mentioned, a third sounds reasonable for Kupp if the Rams eat most of his salary, anything higher would have to be linked...

    Michael Jerrell appreciation thread.

Good stuff. It's also worth mentioning Stone is a better fit at LT than RT.

Geno for MVP Weekly Power Ranking

Why Richardson? He might be the worst starting QB in the league.

    The emerging defensive narrative

This was my only concern with MM's defense in Baltimore. The Ravens are a dominant scoring and time-of-possession offense, which tends to force teams out of the run and hide that deficiency in MM's scheme. So, the formula (to use a Peteism) for Seattle stopping the run might come down to our...

Rams in advanced trade talks for Stafford and Kupp

I'm a tad skeptical of these rumors. A) The Rams are finally getting healthy, and B) they are only two games out of first place. Why trade Stafford now? Also, what could they possibly get for Cooper Kupp? He's on a terrible contract and hasn't been able to stay healthy in 4 years.

Geno for MVP Weekly Power Ranking

There are the Ringer QB rankings, in which Geno was ranked 9th last week (7th before our losing skid). I forget which poster posted this every week; otherwise, I'd credit them. Ringer PFF has him 12th, the NFL QB index has him 10th, and he's 7th in success rate. The ESPN link you posted also...

    A tale of two run-defense

Sure, that's true in general: defenses do tend to wear down. What's strange about Seattle is that the decline (at least in the splits) is not just the result of cumulative carries that wear the defense down. Seattle's run defense is up and down the entire game; they'll be stout for five...

Geno is a top 5 Qb

Intellectually dishonest? This was the third comment that came up. You also have a list where you name guys and rank Geno 18th, allude to him being overpaid, argued with me last week about whether he was worth top 18-12 QB money, and so on. To be fair, your opinion on Geno reads like someone...

    ME3 to start!

Is anyone taking credit away from him? We're mostly talking about whether he actually had a "great game" and, by extension, whether that success is sustainable. The advanced metrics would indicate that it is not. Maybe it is rust. Maybe it is Russ. We'll find out.

    ME3 to start!

The whole game? I answered your question about Prime Russ in the above reply.

    ME3 to start!

I didn't say he could "only throw 50/50 balls." I said whether he looks good depends on the outcome of those 50/50 balls.

    ME3 to start!

Okay. A) We're not talking about Russ in Seattle. He was great for us. Similarly, his game relied less on explosive plays when he was mobile and created more per game. B) The bolded comment is a complete misreading of what I said. I'm saying that when Russ is not hitting low-probability...

    ME3 to start!

100% Whether he looks good or not depends on how many of those 50/50 balls he completes. This is one thing the total TD crowd refuses to accept. TDs don't reflect a QBs overall impact on the game. For example, ignore the basic metrics, and it's clear Russ was not very good last night. His Cmp%...

    A tale of two run-defense

Probably nothing. 6 of Atlanta's final 11 runs came on their final drive down 31-14 with their 3rd string RB seemingly killing the clock (they ran it 6 out of 7 times). The others came on their lone TD drive, still over 4 YPC. Seattle's run defense gets worse with volume. It's pretty strange...

Trent Williams throws another punch in loss

I can't imagine the NFL doing anything besides a small fine. This is the same organization that had footage of Aaron Donald walking to the bench after a game, putting on his helmet, and then running toward Justin Britt and punching him in the face—clearly premeditated, outside the game, and the...

    Michael Jerrell appreciation thread.

This! Atlanta doesn't put much pressure on the quarterback, yet they pressured Geno on a little over 50% of his dropbacks. Jerrell finished with an average Forsythe game (pre-Bosa) in terms of pressures given up. Props to the kid for stepping in and performing, but it's far to early to view him...

    Anthony Bradford didn't suck yesterday!

I mentioned this in another thread, I think the whole offensive line benefited from playing a terrible Atlanta pass rush. But I agree; hopefully, this is a confidence builder going forward.

Geno is a top 5 Qb

No. You're labeled as a Geno hater because a quick search of your post history has you ranking Geno as a bottom 16 QB. This offseason you had him ranked as low as 20th.

    Falcons game thoughts

Okay. Well, let's test your reality. In week 7 of 2021, the Chiefs ranked 31st in defensive efficiency. They finished that year ranked 8th. They did not make any significant trades. How would you explain their improvement? I don't care if you challenge my opinions. Bring it.
