    Dodson expected to be released

I don't think Dodson was actually an issue here. He was a solid rotational LB. What probably happened is that Macdonald watched the tape, realized Dodson wasn't the long-term solution, and wanted to see what he had in the younger guys. Given that Dodson is on a prove-it deal, he likely wasn't...

Mike MacDonald will carry this team.

There seems to be a tangible level of cope within our fanbase at the moment. Expectations are down to all-time lows for a team that supposedly underachieved at 9 wins last season. You look at what a culture setter like Jim Harbaugh has done with the Chargers in half a season and it's hard not...

    Dolphins vs Rams

The Rams are not as good as the national media wants them to be. Think of all the things that had to go wrong for them to beat our sorry butts.

    Russ Earned My Respect Back

Sure. Russ has made some big throws, but the Steelers are NOT asking him to do much else. He is averaging 28 attempts per game, and completing under 60% of his passes. He's the epitome of a game manager, who hasn't had to play from behind or carry the offense. He grades out similar to Sam...

    Russ Earned My Respect Back

I'm happy Russ is revitalizing his career, but the way his team torched the Seahawk's organization will never sit right with me. As for the Steelers, we'll see how legit they are against the Ravens next week. Russ hasn't had to do much thus far. So it'll be interesting to see how he performs...

    Dodson expected to be released

https://x.com/bradyhenderson/status/1856071357458723330 According to Brady Henderson on Twitter. Not sure who they intend to replace him with.

One guy…one guy you wish we could’ve got

Humphrey, Watt, and Madubuike are the obvious missed opportunities. The controversial opinion would be Jalen Carter. I love Witherspoon, but drafting a nickel corner 5th overall still feels high to me. And Carter is arguably the most complete young DT in the league.

I think we lost the bye week

We're a week too early for pessimism. A win next week puts us a game back of the division lead, heading into a first place game against the Cardinals.

    Baker Mayfield

I guess it depends on how we define really good. His teams certainly don't win with any consistency. And, yes. I watched most of the game. I don't think Mayfield's game has changed. He's the same guy he was in Cleveland before the injury. Give him a top 10 rush offense, and he'll put up stats...

    Steelers vs Commanders

We did. His current salary is the same as a 4th round pick.

    Steelers vs Commanders

It also doesn't hurt that the Steelers are paying him the same amount as a 4th round pick. He's back where he started.

    Baker Mayfield

Eh, the difference is that we can pull up Geno's stats for most games and prove he wasn't the issue. Try to do that with Baker in this game. His cmp% is 8.5 percent below expected. He was awful.

    Baker Mayfield

Mayfield makes some spectacular plays, but he also missed several wide open throws. If Geno had a 116 yards game, this forum would be calling for his head.

    Steelers vs Commanders

The biggest roadblock for Russ long term will be his contract. Regardless of what you think of him as a QB, he's easily the best value in the league at 1.2 million.

We should have done 'something' before the trade deadline.

Agreed, but it would be nice to have both.

We should have done 'something' before the trade deadline.

I don't know about not making trade deadline moves. But this is the same front office that wanted to re-sign Jordyn Brooks in the offseason and lost him to Miami because they misjudged the speed of his market. So maybe they thought the trade deadline was next week.

    Getting harder to argue against.

No one thinks John is solely responsible for the past 15 years. What we don't understand is why people act like Carroll having final say on personnel means most bad personnel decisions were his fault. Right? Just invert the argument; Imagine if people started saying all the good decisions were...

    Geno wasn’t good this game

Few things: A) The ball is leaving Geno's hands as Barner gets bumped/grabbed, and Geno's has a free rusher in his face. That was a catastrophic failure by the entire right side of the line. B) On the interception where Geno gets hit, he's throwing the ball away. He wasn't trying to force it...

hiring a college OC may have been a mistake...

That may be true, but what should they adapt to? They are a good shotgun offense. They've been terrible everywhere else. Their only real-option is to pivot toward a Pete-style sink-or-swim commitment to playing under center and running the ball, banking on increased reps leading toward a...

hiring a college OC may have been a mistake...

This isn't just a Grubb issue. Macdonald said he wants to operate out of the shotgun. He mentioned it on that radio station. That's part of his philosophy, coming from a Ravens system that's been in the top 5 in shotgun snaps for the past half decade.
