    They definitely lie, but I would assume that if his agent was lying about interest in his client, he would be a lot more vague, like saying several teams are interested, rather than mentioning them specifically.

    A In retrospect, absolutely. I'm just giving some viable reasons of why it was considered risky at the time. We've been on both ends of trading for a guy without an extension in place. Some worked great, some blew up spectacularly.

    Eh, there was legitimate reason to question it at the time. We gave up significant capital for ten games of a DT approaching his 30s in what turned out to be a non-playoff season, without an extension in place. That was incredibly risky. Williams could have easily chosen to sign somewhere else...

    There are a lot of very good QBs in the league and the guys in the 8-15 range that he's generally accepted to be in are so close that you can justify most any order among it.

    Havnt they been pretty clear about Ward not being on the block? I absolutely hated the Curry pick. I was Team Crabtree, but had we selected him and he didn't end up on the Niners, one of the greatest moments in team history doesn't happen, so maybe Curry wasn't so bad after all.
