    Seahawks waive WR Stephen Williams

Williams does one thing and that's go routes. He doesn't play special teams like Morgan and Kearse. Both those guys are also younger. The move seems to make sense.

Jermaine Kearse no play the Russell Wilson INT

I've heard WRs say it's a whole 'nother ballgame when you're running routes across the middle. We've seen Kearse get deep, but the timing, aggressiveness, and feel for the crossing routes might not be there yet. Also, some of that is probably on Russ not knowing where Kearse is going to be either.

Random Thoughts™ on the Texans game

Thanks for the write-up. A lot of good points all around. I just want to throw out that this is Clemons 2nd game back, and his first with an extended run of snaps. He might have lost a step, or he might be working himself back into game shape and testing his knee. And just think, if this is him...

    Unger and Breno out...

Being with the Hawks as a backup and making the calls while the bullets are flying are two different things, IMO. We've seen starting centers struggle to do it, so I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say that it could be an area of concern. Of course, Jeanpierre may come out and do...

    Unger and Breno out...

Its been mentioned, but Houston blitzes a lot so not having Unger there to make the line calls might be our biggest disadvantage. On the other end, I'm not sure Bowie in at right tackle is all that big of a step back. Giacomini obviously knows the scheme inside and out, but physically Bowie...

    D'anthony Smith Waived

I think it also means McDonald beat him out for that final DT spot. I'm happy we were able to pick him back up after we cut him.

    Rams V 9ers

Apparently we're not the only people Kap is blowing off. Two losses and the guy is acting like his turtle died. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/ ... e677c.html

How will our L33t Pass blocking effect this game?

This was the exact thought I had. There's not really any soft landings in the NFL, but if there was ever a week to see what you had at LT this was it. If Bailey struggled McQuistan is experienced enough that you lose nothing the next game. I'll trust the coaches, though.

    Trent Richardson to Indi

Are there any players more overrated than Alabama RBs? Ingrahm, Richardson, Lacy - nice backs but not worth 1st round picks. Good move for Browns.

Seahawks Throwbacks - Not Anytime Soon

Exactly. It's just throwing us a bone once every few years. I grew up watching the Hawks in the old silver and blue and I'd love to see it again. Marshawn, Russ, and Sherm would be awesome to see in the old unis. And for the record, the thing I really appreciate in the new uniforms is that they...

    DVR study: 1st quarter

I mentioned it when they cut MRob, but I thought they should have just dropped the fullback position altogether. A lot of teams run exclusively out of one-back, and if you're going to take such a big step back talent-wise why not scheme around it? You can always motion the TE's and WRs to get...

Random Thoughts™ on the 49ers game

I so want the Sea-Hulk to be a pediatrician or lawyer or something. Epic alter-ego. My number one concern heading into the game was the run defense and the Hawks shut it down from the first snap. San Fran came out with some designed QB's run, trying to take us by surprise, but nothing was...

    Patrick Willis: Hit "uncalled for"

The cut block is a part of football. They can outlaw it, as they probably will, but it will only take away from the game. I imagine, though, there are a few ZBS coaches like Cable and Gibbs that are going to raise hell to keep it legal.

How realistic is it that we'll resign Sherman?

On the postgame Sherm was talking up all the other guys in the Legion. He realizes he's in a special situation. It may not mean we get a break, but I know he doesn't want to go anywhere else.

Random Thoughts™ on the Illinois game

Agreed about the road win. You take it and be happy. This stat has been making the rounds, but UW hadn't won a non-conference road game since Jake Locker was a freshman against Syracuse. Wow. I couldn't take a lot from the game since I did the blurry feed thing, but one thing that stood out was...

    Today's random fun fact(s) - QBR edition

Of course it's him. Only ESPN could make up a stat that they can subjectively score to fit their narrative. I don't wan't to see QBR used for anything anymore.
  17. Fuzzman55

    Russell Wilson

QBR is subjective nonsense. Don't they grade turnovers depending on what the other team does with it? What does that have to do with the QB? Wilson is just a joy to watch. Honestly, he bails out that run blocking oline far more than he costs them.

    Breno...

I'm not going to say there aren't issues, like the coaches undervaluing pass blocking over and over again, but this unit was more than decent the second half of last year. The run game will get going. Of that I have no doubt. They were trying multiple new running formations, like lining up a TE...

    Any news from today's practice?

http://blog.thenewstribune.com/seahawks ... ng-injury/ There's some limited injury info there. It sounds like Browner has been added to the questionable list.

I think there's some ribbing of the power conferences in there. Don't show Stoned Cold!
