What play do you think turned the season around?

Anyway, same game, I'll take the Wilson-to-Willson TD to win the game at Carolina.

What play do you think turned the season around?

I'm still irritated that Pete sent out the FG team in that spot. That was his worst available option in that spot; both going for it or punting would have been better. Awesome job by Hauschka to bail him out though, and definitely a big play for the season.

    Pete's Press Conference w/Recap

Thanks as always for these recaps.

Seahawks - Panthers Referee - Terry McAulay

Mixed crews though. The referee really only calls things like roughing the passer and occasionally offensive holding; the downfield officials who decide on defensive penalties may be totally different than those we got in the Super Bowl.

Kearse Hawked, Locked, and Ready to Rock!

The silliness I was referencing is when a starter goes out, and a backup goes in and outperforms him, at which point many an old school coach goes, "Well, you can't lose your job due to injury" and reinserts the starter in his old spot in a move that can only be described as a coach doubling...

Kearse Hawked, Locked, and Ready to Rock!

As stated, I think we could win without him, but it's certainly only a positive that he's back and available. Thankfully we have the rare head coach who doesn't let himself get shackled by silly notions of having to put a guy back in for reps unless he's still the best guy to get those reps.

Meh, not really. Not for this weekend.

    Cowboys + Refs = Trouble

Nah I've got plenty of gifs bookmarked, they only take like 10 seconds to pick out and post.

Seattle Is Opening At -11 Points Favorite

https://account.sportsinsights.com/spre ... 15&gtype=4 So far it looks like it has moved a bit bigger, to -11.5 in some books. Our lines do seem like they may be more difficult to price in correctly than the lines of other great teams that have the great offense/middling defense combo. Seems...

The degenerate gamblers don't move a line a full point and a half. If it gets all the way down to 9.5 then it will be because the sharps love Carolina's side of this current line. I would strongly guess that this closes as a double-digit line though.

    Bring on those kitty cats!

Yep. They're the worst team left in the playoffs. Which, to be fair, still means that they are a playoff team, and of course there are no guarantees about any one NFL game...but there isn't a single team left in the field in either conference that I'd rather be playing than Carolina.

Umm okay, I'll be in touch.

Well I certainly don't know what else it would be if not a coincidence.

    Cowboys + Refs = Trouble

Just to be clear, I don't disagree with those who think that the officiating was incredibly one-sided against the Lions in the 4th quarter today. It was, and that PI flag should not have been picked up.

    Cowboys + Refs = Trouble

If you're looking for it, you'll be able to find these calls, sure. That's because every team gets bad calls that hurt them and bad calls that help them...from there, perception all comes down to selection bias. I love today's theories that the NFL reversed a suspension of Detroit's top...

    Cowboys + Refs = Trouble

Yes, I have no doubt that the NFL is running some massive fix for ratings when: (1) their ratings are automatically monstrous no matter who plays; and (2) they don't renegotiate another TV contract for seven years, making immediate ratings almost completely meaningless anyway. Enjoy your world...

Which opponent we draw will of course have nothing to do with which team we are likely to get favorable or unfavorable calls against.
