Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

Good point. The Hawks haven't drafted well since Scot McCoulghan era. It likely doesn't matter what they do with Wilson if they can't hit on draft picks.

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

The point of the discussion I raised is to say this: let's look at the Superbowl winners since the new CBA. Has any team won a SB with a star QB who just entered the first years of a new record setting contract? No. There are two models thus far since the new CBA for winning 1) Rookie contract...

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

I didn't make the point to suggest Russell could, should, would do the same as Brady. I made the point to suggest the correlation between what you pay your QB, the level you receive from that player, and the high end winning probability. It's a fundamental philosophical question we are...

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

One thing I can promise you is that the Pats would not have championships in 2015, 2017 and 2019 save for Brady making half of what the market would pay him.

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

It's actually a pretty well thought out discussion on the philosophy behind paying the mega contract to the QB vs. trying to hit a homerun on a cheap rookie deal. Russ is a no brainer at $25-$30 million. Upwards of $35MM would require some pause for me. You simply just cannot pay him...

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

Good post by twisted husky. I made some similar comments. I think if you can get 6th overall and 38 and 1st next, you definitely go for it. Murray or Haskins potentially at 6, or take elite position player if you think you can get a mobile QB steal in the 2nd.

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

I absolutely would agree to 7 years $200 MM. $28+MM is reasonable. I saw on twitter he's looking for $35MM. So would you do 7 Years at $245MM? What if he was looking for $40MM a year? My point is if he's looking for $35-$40MM a year, at what point does the contract % towards total cap make...

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

There is certainly something to be said about just simply being a playoff contender for the next 10 years.. Even if we don't win another SB... we didn't get to watch playoffs for so many years, and I think the trading route opens up the door for a crappy team in the future.

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

I totally get that. My question is. How teams have won a SB after the QB signed a market leading contract within the first 3 years of the term? Dak isn't getting Rodgers money though. That's foolish. It's not the next man up gets the most. It's the next elite QB up gets it which would fit...

Russell Wilson to Giants? - NBC Sports comentary

Ok here's a better question. Everyone has to have a number. At what price is Russell Wilson's contract not worth the price? $25MM? $30MM? $40MM? There has to be a number for everyone. Once we can get people to admit the number we can have a dialogue about value. "keep him at all costs" isn't...

Drew Lock is pretty darn good. He's got sneaky speed/athleticism too. If you could get him 6th, reduce the cap space by about 20MM a year, get a 2nd and another 1st.. I'd definitely do it. With that extra room you could sign the equivalent of Clowney type player.

Would you take 6th Ov, 38 and NYG 1st in 2020 for Russ?

    Kicker position upgrade

Gould or Bryant would be great.

    Russ Scores More Than 13.

There's no way the defense allows only 13 though:)

Ricardo Lockette Got Over SB 49 "Pretty Easily"

It's not Lockette's fault he was in that position. He's a one trick pony (speed), that's what made him a great gunner. Route running and hands were not his forte. That's on Bevell.

    Earl Thomas

I still think the Hawks will tag him if they can get a contract done with Frank. At the very least they could parlay that into a 5th or 6th round pick on a trade and sign scenario.

Is Lockett ready to be our #1 WR or starting slot WR?

Lockett isn't a slot WR. He has average route running, and is faster than quick, versus Baldwin who is quicker than fast with incredible route running.

    Pay Wilson Or Not..

The Seahawks have a Mahomes-like talent.. the difference is the scheme. If they could create better plays and ask him to run a bit more, it would be lights-out. Russ has his limitations but no QB is perfect. Russ has more upside than 95% of the QBs in the league. Pay him, and get better at...
