I doubt either of those guys is starting for us this season, unless the unthinkable happens on the injury front.

It's very possible a trade or two will happen and one of the future aces
gets plugged right in.

Barring a trade or injury, neither will be a starter this spring. Rotation is already more or less set and I believe it's similar to last year before Woo needed to be shelved. Supposing we keep all our current pitchers for a while, might we see Anderson and Sloan periodically in relief? The way they're throwing at spring training, one or both becoming starters later this season, or beginning 2027, seems inevitable.

I think the only difference from the 2025 rotation at the beginning of the season is Emerson Hancock then, George Kirby now. Hancock was moved to relief late last season. Aside from that, I can't remember the last time we had this much pitching rotation continuity from one season to the next.

As much as people have blasted this front office over the years, and it absolutely has been warranted........they are ELITE at their ability to load up on pitching talent. Esp. thru the draft.

Speaking of injuries, Oblique injury for Bryce Miller, already. Ugh
Could be out as much as 6 weeks. Fingers crossed it's just a tweak. No link, just what I heard on 710 ESPN yesterday afternoon.
They didn't really sound concerned, but worse case is 6 weeks. That would truly suck a**

I guess the "All-Spring Breakout Team" is some sort of recognition of ST accomplishments and near-future potential, but whatever it is, kudos to Sloan making 1st team at just 20 years of age.

I think it's gonna' be Kirby being traded. Still has a ton of value, still young, some team control, etc. Plus, east coast guy.

Yeah, sad, but might be necessary in the not too distant future. With Sloan and Andersson waiting in the wings, something will have to give. Not saying to call the kids up this year, but can't be too far downstream.
