i dont particularly mind this. For this year its a better deal for the Rams but to me they are just throwing away their future. Verse i think can be a building block plus another first round pick gone is a good thing for seahawks.
Yeah, Verse is legit. Trading away younger talent for older talent seems a bit desperate --- but it will pay off at least this year.

What the hell are the Rams doing? Yeah, Garrett is incredible, but Verse was blossoming into an elite player at the same position while being younger and cheaper.

Can't wait until a few years from now with Ty Simpson throwing to Antonio Brown Jr, backed up by a depleted defense because they traded all their picks to either replace or upgrade from their best players.

They mortgaged their future in a 25 year-old Jared Verse for a 30 year-old Myles Garrett. They’re likely to get 4 to 5 years tops out of Garrett.

They are clearly shooting for a two year window, with Stafford and McVay, before having to rebuild the team from scratch

If that’s not desperation, I don’t know what is

MGarrett is a game changer, but I still profess that both teams are stacked with talent, enough to win a championship this season. The roster won't be the deciding factor. It'll be intangibles/coaching.

Also, it made me chuckle to myself when I thought maybe JS trades a first for Verse and unleashes him against his old team.

Verse was already blossoming into an elite young player.

Also, their draft wasn't indicative of a team going "all in".

This will make them marginally more scary this season, but I also think this is now one less team we'll need to be worrying about in the future.

We ain't got nothin' to worry about, why? CHARLES CROSS!

Myles' alignments in 2025 were mostly over LT, and he played opposite Charles Cross once, in 2023. Needless to say, Cross has matured, and Myles has aged:

1780335824475

When they aligned across each other:
  • The Verdict:
Garrett won the stat sheet with a sack and multiple pressures, but Cross won a lot of praise from PFF analysts for preventing a game-wrecking performance. Cross effectively forced Garrett to work horizontally rather than allowing him to destroy the pocket vertically.

  • The game in 2023, head-to-Head Matchup Breakdown, week 8 (2023):
During this specific game, PFF tracked a highly competitive, heavyweight battle between the two. While Garrett won individual reps, Cross held his ground remarkably well for a young tackle facing an elite pass rusher.

    Garrett’s Production:
Garrett finished the game with 1.0 sack, 1 quarterback hit, and 4 total pressures. However, PFF tracking data showed that his sack actually came while looping inside on a stunt rather than beating Cross strictly on the outside edge.

    Cross’s Performance:
Cross allowed only 2 hurries directly to Garrett across more than 35 true pass-blocking snaps. He utilized his length well to keep Garrett from winning cleanly with his signature ghost-rush and speed-to-power moves.

    PFF Game Grades:
Myles Garrett: Earned a 74.1 pass-rush grade for the game, which was one of his lower single-game grades of that season, largely due to Cross's resilience.

Charles Cross: Earned a 71.2 pass-blocking grade for the game, an impressive feat considering the assignment.

Yes, 12s, we ain't got nothin' to worry about. 49ers? umm, head-to-Head Statistics:
  • Week 13 (2025 Season): In their most recent clash, they had 10 meaningful pass-protection matchups. Garrett beat Williams for 4 pressures and 1 sack, forcing one of the highest pressure rates Williams has given up in his career.
  • Week 6 (2023 Season): Garrett logged a sack and won 31% to 38% of his reps against Williams, which Pro Football Focus recorded as the highest win rate a defender has achieved against the future Hall of Fame tackle in a single game
Be worried, be very worried my 49ers' fans.
