Looks like another candidate to replace Dareke Young.
"The Seattle Seahawks are trading a 2028 conditional seventh-round draft pick to acquire special teams standout Irvin Charles from the New York Jets, according to a report from The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt on Wednesday morning."
When you have big Dick punting the ball at an elite level like we do, having an elite gunner can give us a huge advantage. Hell, Dick was one of the MVP’S of the playoffs last season IMHO so the perpetual investment in special teams is always welcome.
ST is going to be pinning teams down with no room to breathe on returns. An absolute hoss of a punter and two monster gunners on the field is just nasty work.
I reckon we see a lot of highlights from that group this year.
Special Teams matter a LOT. I love how much they make it a priority.
Unlike The Clams and McSpikeyhair McCrybaby. He ignored it. He also watched the Hawks WIN THE SUPER BOWL.
Interesting addition, if he shows up healthy this player will make the team's ST group even stronger. Certainly if nothing else the cost is minimal and the upside could be special for the team.
The player is purely a ST player , but a darn good one when he is healthy.
