1. Walker was low-key butt hurt about sharing half the snaps with Charbs especially in a contract year except he’s very much shown he’s very much the type of RB that needs to be managed throughout the season then perhaps unleashed down the stretch . And he’s horrible as a blocker and good but not elite as a WR.
2. Honestly, felt Kyren Williams type contract was the max they were willing to go but hinging on guaranteed money. Williams got $23 out of $33 but is more complete overall player. Walker at almost $29 at up to $45 with reason 1 is like pass. Like if it was a $40/$20 gtd kind of deal it might have been more reasonable.
Same with Bryant, dont think Seahawks had an issue with $13 per year (including incentives) but his guaranteed money was practically doubled than what Julian Love got and Love is the better player of the two… it just would have just caused issues.
3. My reading comprehension sucks as im jumping site to site for UDFAs and more insights on Henderson, Eastern, and the last pick. Missed key word of OP’s title in “franchise”.
4. Walker doesn’t necessarily run with the best patience and vision behind his blocking scheme but once Outten took over RBs and probably Run Game Coordinating we saw less FB, mo Bobo, and the TEs were used less and less in the passing game and more so in run blocking department. That opened up more outside lanes for Walker but you also could see Outten in his ear several times just coaching him up probably keeping him grounded probably telling him to trust the blocks and when to and where to mash his speed button. This is a little maybe a lot of projecting on my part but feels like Walker’s own decision making was hit or miss and he needed to be somewhat micromanaged in the mental department much like Woolen.
5. He probably wanted to not only get his bag but likely play closer to home.
