Going to put this here to talk about our own Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and how he compares to this years comp Jaylen Green Arkansas.
Green is 4" taller at 6'6", Milroe a touch faster, both have the big accurate deep ball and both need work on their touch, short/intermediate passing and line calls, reading defenses.

The big difference I see is Green never exceeded 61% completion rate in college.
While Milroe had a 65.8 completion rate in 2023 and 64.3% in 2024. I'd still rather have Jalen over Bryce Young and probably Simpson too

I watched some Arkansas games this past season my opinion on Green is a good athlete trying to play QB that half the time didn’t have a plan. For Green to be successful in the NFL a position change would be necessary. Comparing Green to Milroe I would give Milroe a slight edge

Cole Payton North Dakota State, 6-3, 232lbs, lefty with only one year of college QB starting experience. Has more TD's rushing than passing.
He led NDSU to a 12-1 record and completed 72% of his passes throwing for 2719 yards and 16 TD's vs 4 INT's. He finished 3rd in the Walter Payton award voting and is the best dual threat QB in the draft.
In a weak QB class some have Payton ranked in the 3rd/4th round but probably will fall further.

Joe Fagnano and Sawyer Robertson are two more interesting under the radar QB's that could be good late round bets.
I think the smart thing is to draft QB's 'when' you find them as opposed to when you need them.
You can't have too many good ones and their value as backups and in trade is something I think John's wheelhouse needs more of.

Forgive my rant.
I just think watching Cole Payton compete with Jalen Milroe in the preseason would be well worth the price of a 5th or 6th rounder.

Top QB in 2026 draft? Smart GMs are calling Schneider for Milroe. I would consider a 1st + 3rd, John probably won't.

Shhhhhh! Point on about Cole Payton. JS has said in previous years it's always good to look at drafting a QB. I realize he hasn't done it much, but I would be down with using an extra pick through trading down on either Cole Payton or dare I say Diego Pavia. I trust John Grudens QB evaluations and I'm intrigued by a few QBs in this draft. May not be a position of need on the surface, but it's always a position worth looking to improve ahead of time rather than waiting until desperate.
